He ordered his police to leave antifa/blm rioters alone basically. He told Trump to piss off when Trump wanted to send federal troops to deal with terrorists. For months he refused to do anything against all the savage criminals

Of course. Like almost every single Democrat mayor. Right up there as one of the worst hypocrites alongside Lori Lightfoot and de Blasio/Cuomo etc with their handling of these riots and covid.
 
The family at the centre of all of this, the Kinneys, are soverign citizens, specifically Moorish Sovereign Citizens. They falsely claim that the US signed a treaty with Morocco in 1787 that grants them immunity from US law. This family claims rightful ownership of the land where the Red House stands and maintains that the state nor federal government have any authority over them.

As for why they mortgaged the house, the youngest son - William Kinney III - is a career criminal who spent time behind bars for a felony hit-and-run that resulted in the death of someone. The family, who at the time owned the Red House outright, took out a second mortgage to cover the legal fees of their son's hit-and-run case. They never paid back the loan.

When Kinney got a chance to speak at the hearing, he said he was a sovereign individual, an “Indigenous” man and a “remnant of the divine people.” He told the court at the time that he answered only to God and not to the laws of Oregon.

The owner of the Red House is willing to sell it back, claiming that he is fearful of the way things have escalated and does not want to get caught up in it.

Ozeruga said he fears for his family’s well-being.

“I myself am a father of little kids,” he said. “I don’t have a publicity team or even a lawyer for this. I’m concerned for safety to be honest.”

Police in Olympia, WA declared a riot on Saturday after Trump supporters seeking to overturn the 2020 election clashed with pro-democracy activists.

“In videos of a clash in Olympia that were posted on social media, a single gunshot can be heard as black-clad counterprotesters move toward members of the pro-Trump group, including one person waving a large Trump flag. After the gunshot, one of the counterprotesters is seen falling to the ground, and others call for help. In one video, a man with a gun can be seen running from the scene and putting on a red hat,” The New York Times reported Saturday. “Chris Loftis, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol, said that one person was in custody in connection with the episode but that specific details about the shooting were not yet clear, including the condition of the person who was shot.”
