US protests/riots 2020

This is why conservative will lose and this whole exercise was stupid. Dems have no problem supporting their useful idiots. But is Rep do the same the people get thrown under the bus.
Why did people think that Pence was going to do something that he had no power to do?

The agitators who broke windows were not even Trump supporters. They were crisis actors, and the undercover BLM/Antifa people that said they would be there weeks ago already.

They also didn't even "storm" the building, but were allowed to enter without anyone really trying to stop them, as has been echoed by people who were there and can be seen in footage from many videos like this one.

It sure looks a lot like this whole "riot" was planned and executed by left, to give them an excuse to force congress to back down from their pledges to object to certifying fraudulent results. And that's exactly what they have done.

Also... That women was murdered for nothing more than entering a room, unarmed, in protest of her concerns about the integrity of the election being ignored by the representatives she elected. She certainly wasn't part of a "violent mob".

Interesting. I found this (ignore the annoying woman). Trump supporter tackles dude trying to break windows and crowd cheers

Do Trump supporters usually dress in all black, cover their faces and wear helmets with Trump stickers on and walk around with tools to smash windows?

Don't get me wrong, Trump supporters were still acting like a bunch of morons but this guy doesn't look like a Trumper to me at all

Indeed. There is plenty pointing to them causing the problems, and I've also seen other footage of Trump supporters stopping people who were trying to break things.

Then there's also the fact that multiple Antifa members have been identified already, and FBI agents spotted them too. Most of them were dressed just like Trump supporters to blend in though.

All the Rep senators just folding is really weak. Half of Americans believe the election was stolen and they refused to even debate it.

I don't know if this will just end quietly.

America is reaping what it sowed.

Spineless and spiteful governors (Ted Wheeler) spent all of last year normalising political violence when they refused to reign BLM and Antifa in. And they done so with the support of MSM. Don't ever forget ''mostly peaceful'' as a city burned.

They made political violence okay.

he most definitely had the power, there is prior precedent of it in history even, go ask Nixon

the sillier thing is: why did people believe a politician will help them at the cost of his career? politicians only ever look out for themselves, now ask yourself what is better for Pence's career long term; being labeled the guy who instigated a coup or just being another VP who confirmed an election?

No he didn't. Citation of precedent needed.

try to read further than the very much biased title:
In the 1960 election between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, Hawaii’s Republican governor certified a Republican slate of electors after the initial count had Nixon winning the state by about 100 votes. But Democratic electors met anyway and insisted that Kennedy would win an ongoing recount.

The Democrats were right, and when it came time for Congress to consider which group of electors to count, it chose the Democratic one. It was Nixon himself, who was presiding over Congress as the outgoing vice president, who made the decision

The choice that Nixon had to make was between two slates of electors, that's not a precedent it's happened before.
Pence was given one slate for each state, he doesn't have a decision to make between two slates of electors.

one official slate, one unofficial, he chose the unofficial slate

exactly the same scenario with multiple states in this election except the pressure is on to just go with the official electors

In the case of Nixon both slates were sent through and signed by the same governor, there's no comparison here.
