Yeah I remember the good old days of knife fights on Saturdays with the other kids in the neighborhood before our parents called us in to come have dinner.

Aahhh the memories.

Woah even cnn (and Don Lemon of all people) defending the cop in this case

Don't know what they said afterwards though...

The fact that this is such a shock to the Trump crowd speaks volumes.

If the tables were turned (ie the perpetrator was some kind of proudboy type) they would be arguing for the one doing the stabbing ad nauseam.

If I was the unarmed girl shoved against the car imminently about to get stabbed, I would appreciate a cop stopping the person attacking me by any means.

But I think the police force should just not respond. That is what the crazies want right?

What's up with kids in America (o whoa) :p

Violence begets violence.

Here's an interesting video about how Scotland dealt with this issue:

Scottish city Glasgow once held the grim title "murder capital of Europe" but homicides in the city have fallen by 60% in just over a decade all thanks to a radical approach - treating violence as a disease.

FTFY.... the 'its just a normal peaceful knife fight' parents that have come out of the wood work... It doesn't surprise me one bit to see they're the same 'he was a good kid' parents, and majority of those involved in situations that get cops called on them were probably raised by people like this

This is a very important mindset shift to make.
Often people who grew up in better circumstances think that the only reason people are criminals (which include violent behaviour) is because they want to be criminals.
People also hate the idea of spending money on helping freeloaders.

Time and time again it has been shown that the earlier a problem is addressed, the cheaper it will work out for everyone. Spending "large" amounts of money to improve people's lives will often lead to massive savings down the line.

Here's another one about how changes in the prison system can reduce crime:

This one is a bit more difficult to accept. Sure it may work, but people hate the idea of funding someone who wronged you's cushy lifestyle.
Someone rapes your daughter, and now he lives in a nice free-range prison with luxuries that you pay for through your taxes.
On the other hand, it is more important that when the rapist comes out, that he doesn't do it again.

No they wouldn't. Eish.

Some should A- never live so cushy and B- never get out.

"Treating violence as a disease".

Fuk me.

I am hugely in favour of prison reform, giving certain classes of prisoners the skills that they can use to make sure that they don't need to commit crime.

There are however crimes that are not committed because of economic need or upbringing, like most rape and murder, are not things you can teach people not to do.

And some crimes like rape and murder is unanimously agreed upon to be punished, not live a life better than most south africans.
