Progressives suffered a disappointing setback on Saturday, after their favored candidate lost to a more establishment-aligned opponent in a special congressional election in Louisiana.

State Sen. Troy Carter, who was backed by top leaders of the Congressional Black Caucus, beat state Sen. Karen Carter Peterson in a runoff to fill a vacant House seat that quickly turned into a turf war for sparring factions of the Democratic Party. He overcame more than a million dollars in outside spending backing Peterson to win, 56 percent to 44 percent, when The Associated Press called the race.

The district is majority Black and safe Democratic territory; it includes almost all of New Orleans and stretches north toward Baton Rouge. The former incumbent, Cedric Richmond, vacated the seat to join the Biden administration.

The solution for this situation is easy. Police officers are currently leaving the police and in many states they no longer have enough new recruits interested in joining. Some states are forced to look for recruits in other states. As soon as law enforcement collapses, the public can sort themselves out. Once this happens, whoever wins, will appoint a new government and can then re-evaluate laws and law enforcement.

You may be....errrm...right there. Since we're nitpicking stats, the week on week stats have seen a 60% reduction of murders since the same time last year. There were 10 murders for the same week last year, there are 4 this week.

That obviously means that defunding police in the woke cities has reduced the murder rate.

Anyone who thinks AOC is the future of the Democrat party and actually supports her is akin to putting a 50 Cal Barrett to America's collective head and pulling the trigger until the mag is empty.
