Usage inaccurate

Right now, my website usage report reflects the following:

Uploaded 176.45 MB

I've watched the usage increase by about 100MB every few minutes that I checked. I can account for ~600MB of the entire usage. The usage report was 100% accurate until this morning (it showed just over 500MB used), however it shows more than a 500MB usage jump today. As always, I can supply accurate reports of the amount of cap used, as well as the time it was used. This is now the fourth time that my actual usage and reflected usage differs wildly! And no, nobody is piggybacking on my wireless network.

What gives? :mad:

A quick 50MB increase for posting this on MyBroadband? Something is horribly amiss here. I think we can skip the "It's a piggyback on your wireless/It's a virus/It's a rogue process" part in my case.

EDIT: Been on hold the whole time, gave up.

While my usage did not change, my amount remaining was reduced by ~50MB. And all I did between this post and my previous one was log a complaint on the iBurst website, ironically enough :rolleyes:

I still only have one computer switched on. However, I was not even present during the time of this usage! NetLimiter confirms that less than 500KiB was used during this time.

The modem is used to authenticate a session (basically, only my account will work on this modem and only this modem can be used with my account) and I'm pretty sure only one concurrent session can be run, so it's very unlikely that it's someone somehow managing to figure out what my username and password is, then managing to spoof my modem's authentication and somehow bypassing the session limit.

This is just ridiculous, I'm using a minimal amount of cap (checking the iBurst website every 10 minutes or so and occasionally refreshing this page)!

My total actual usage should still be less than 600MB :confused:

Imagine this happens with people once the 64kbps is gone. Telkom must hurry up with my phone line.
 
Well I'm going to keep this thread updated in the hope that Shaun or whoever is able decides to help me out. Already went through the official channels to no avail thus far. Seeing as the fault is most definitely not on my end (wireless network is secure, no rogue processes/viruses/spyware, NetLimiter 2 Pro confirms the usage was accurate until this morning but completely inaccurate for the rest of the day to the tune of 700MB) I will insist on a full refund of the missing cap!

Fortunately I have NetLimiter 2 Pro statistics for every single second of the month as I assume I'll need to provide them as proof.

The amount remaining has been reduced again! I'll PM my username to iBurst and see whether something will be done about it.
