Usage inaccurate

It seems my usage report has been stuck for the last day!

Mine's been stuck for the last 4 days.

Do you know what I've been doing, downloading 24/7.

Still haven't been capped....:D

Don't complain, take advantage....;)

Stop raping iBurst....:D :p

What I did was I just clicked the button that said "Download the Internet" and now I'm just gonna leave it like that for a while. Then once that is done I'll just zip it and put it on a stiffy disk and put it away till I need it again :p

Your data usage for this month
Description Data (MB)
Downloaded 2329.05 MB
Uploaded 505.42 MB
Total 2834.47 MB
Remaining 2274.93 MB
Purchased 0.0
Carried over 27.8259

And I've used about 20MB since the previous statistics  So that's 2.2GB that I can't account for...

At some of the speeds posted here it might take you a while to download that stiffy full of data ;)

What's the chances that iBurst is getting confused between Kilobytes and Megabytes?

Well lets assume my usage is correct :p Then the maths goes

61184.04 MB /6 days = +/- 10 197.34MB per day
10 197.34/24 hours = 416megs an hour
416megs/60 minutes = 6.9megs per minute
6.9megs/60 seconds = 0.11 megabytes per second = 0.94mbit/s

I should actually be complaining about not getting my 1mbit/s of speed here :D

Didn't actually think it would turn out this way :p

This morning:
Downloaded 9189.12 MB
Uploaded 398.38 MB
Total 9587.5 MB
Remaining 4779.48 MB

Now:
Downloaded 12175.77 MB
Uploaded 476.46 MB
Total 12652.2295 MB
Remaining 1714.75 MB

Now the Cap Gremlins are after my cap again. I am at work, and my OFF PC is at home.
I am also 100% sure that my roughter and gives no problems.

So now its affecting me too :(

I've been told that my detailed usage report will be sent to me (well, that was about an hour and a half ago, still waiting). Not sure what they expect me to do with it, though, as it'll be incorrect, just as the website's reports are.

Lol, i am starting to forget what the reports look like.

Correct me if i am wrong, but if iburst cant tell me what i have used or have remaining, i would think its only fair that they give me a Full carry over for next month.

cause if i dont keep track, and iburst cant either, then who is?

Done.... and now we play the waiting game...... a game i have played with iburst before...... i always loose though, cause after something ridicules time without any response (like 168 hours), i give up.

Some interesting observations about the usage report:
1) There are multiple entries for the same time frame, each with different usage amounts.
2) My amount remaining actually increases a few times during the course of the report
3) They have a steady 50MB - 70MB hourly usage amount for every hour that all of the computers, router and modem were switched off!

As it stands, I am due 2,229.75MiB. I have sent my usage statistics to the relevant recipient, now to see whether I'll get my owed refund...

EDIT: It's been escalated to the "system support department". We're getting somewhere it seems.

I asked for them to send me a actual corrected report, if not, then nothing.

So i got a report, reflects same problems as website. What a surprise :P

Anyway, i took it up with them, and its apparently the Sys admin that says all is good, and that is the correct........ THEY STILL THINK NOTHING IS WRONG!!??!!??!!

Anyway, its been escalated, hopefully something good can come from it.

That's right, I didnt 30 gigs today while I wasn't at home between 9am and 7pm.

So anyway, sent an email yesterday, got a reply that they will look into it this morning, now nothing ... still slow internet without actually having used my bandwidth ... why is it taking so dam long ? it's been like 5 days now ... maybe longer of this rubbish internet that's hardly usable

well today was so nice for me.. i thought u know i can call iburst and they would understand solving my problem

At the moment i am in my career path of network administrator

so i speak to a henry.dladla Apparently he is incharge of the whole call room

he first understands where i am going.. and the convo started clean and fresh.. UNTIL .. i demanded that i be refunded for all my bandwidth lost

he then tries to explain what a DHCP server does.. ( dont know WTF this has to do with anything)

then he says that there is no problem on iburst side.. i have used 6 gig in 7 days.... even tho i played on my net once... i understand the 100 meg per day from my GF raiding and all that .. but i havent played once

he then tells me. that " with each ip assigned we can track your bandwidth usage"
i then simply reply ok so then tell me

he then gets confrontational.. asking about if i run updates.. and all of that .. i reply.. saying no..

he then tries to prove me wrong.. telling me he is sure that while my computers are on. i am downloading.

so. i say ok well whats the solution here.. shall i spread the bad word of iburst or will u come to me with a solution

he says " i will come to a solution by 1 pm.. i am still waiting 8:35 pm

so yes.. i am currently looking at getting web africa or afrihost or any sort of decent company..

if i could see some result thanx jannie

PLEASE can we get some confirmation from any iBurst representative on this forum that they are aware of the problem with their bandwidth usage meter?
