Usage inaccurate

Pathetic that they cannot even acknowledge that there is a problem. Looks like my phone line is coming the 14th. Just shuddering to think that this company has access to my banking details with their debit order system.

Still waiting on word from the "system support department". I insist on a full refund of the missing 2,229.75MiB. Currently reading up on the procedures to lodge a formal complaint at ICASA.

EDIT: Yay 12,000th post :D

Ye, Inaccurate usages is a big problem..... not sure if this "pay per gig" thing is a good thing. (and to think everyone is being migrated now)

Congrats on 12k Techie.

I agree with Napalm, with inaccurate usage records on iBurst side...and the fact that the 64kbs is going to fall away soon, will mean that people will be stuck without interwerbz.

Alot of customers rely on the "64K after the cap". This was the thing that made Iburst unique... compared to 3G.

I'm pretty sure Iburst will lose alot of potential clients because this offering is not available anymore to the packages under R450+-, besides you now have to pay an additional R199 for the Value added service.

To me it sounds pretty problematic and won't attract new customers.

.... Its sad

I've being following the page since it started and apart from 1 individual response from iBurst respresantative, I was hoping Jannie will pop in and give some light.

just called the helpdesk, (call got answered after 10 mins of waiting). i have not been receiving any usage reports via email since 1 December. i was told they are aware of the problem and will take about 1 more week to fix

then i asked if the usage report was correct on the website only to find out that i was allocated double my bandwidth for the month....

the request to correct this was sent through but i can see myself calling iburst in January to have a fight with them again

i can smell adsl on the horizon

Just received a phone call from iBurst, apparently I cannot come see Jannie directly about this problem as he does not take appointments. Pity, since no-one else seems able to refund me my missing cap nor explain to me why this has happened.

Oh well, off we go to ICASA if iBurst won't help me.

Have you tried PM'ing him?

An excerpt of my usage report:

Code:
Date - Downloaded - Uploaded - Total - Balance
12/06/2009 04:12 - 0.018 - 0.021 - 0.039 - 4609.7
12/06/2009 05:12 - 36.672 - 7.516 - 44.188 - 4317.7

So, for 44.188MiB supposed usage (it was actually 859KiB, as we were asleep), my balance gets decreased by 292MiB.

This is one of many irregularities that I've noticed in the report, such as the opposite happening:

Code:
Date - Downloaded - Uploaded - Total - Balance
12/06/2009 07:12 - 38.226 - 7.99 - 46.216 - 4181.3
12/06/2009 07:12 - 1.046 - 0.485 - 1.532 - 4609.6

Duplicate entires, different (and incorrect I might add) amounts, balance increase by 428.3MiB back to 4,609.6MiB which it was the hour before?

There are probably a hundred errors on this report for 6 days, if not more.

No, I'm trying to do this through the official channels as per ICASA requirements for official ICASA complaints. I already have the proof of escalation.

All I want is for iBurst to go "Sorry about this, here's your missing cap refunded, it won't happen again."

Good luck getting them to admit usage is off while Shaun isn't around.

Everytime I've had a complaint it becomes a matter of

1) USAGE IS WRONG!
2) Recieve spreadsheets from iBurst saying the same thing its crappy usage site says.
3) Send forth self obtained usage statistics
4) Radio Silence

(rinse and repeat)

Mark (someone from the system support department) has already admitted that their usage is way off this month, however I'm also stuck at point 4 on your list. However, I will not let this die a quiet death without getting the cap that I paid for!

I can understand a 1% margin of error, but almost 400%?!

I am actually very surprised that iBurst have not come onto myBB to shed some light onto the problem, this IMHO shows that Jannie is seriously busy trying to fix the problem.

RPM...if you are reading this, can you try to get some answers from iBurst? It is clear that something has gone horribly wrong, all we want to know is when will it be fixed (and obviously a little detail of the actual problem won’t hurt ;) ) Just staying away and not talking to us is not going to help, in actual fact it will make things worse and might even get them a phone call from ICASA if I look at my fellow forumites' posts.

My bandwidth usage is slowly going backwards :/. A week ago I had downloaded +-900Mb, This figure dropped to +-700Mb a few day ago and is now on 694.45MB. (this isn't what I have remaining but what I have downloaded, I double checked)

Once I've downloaded 0mb:? do you think I'll be capped?

If this isn't enough confirmation that something is horribly wrong with their usage monitoring system I don't know what is :erm:

Agreed. I am definitely taking this to ICASA if iBurst does not refund my missing cap soon!

Looks like the absence of reports is better than broken reports... Not getting any since migrated (since beginning of month).

Right now, my website usage report reflects the following:

Your data usage for this month
Description Data (MB)
Downloaded 859.68 MB
Uploaded 176.45 MB
Total 1036.13 MB
Remaining 4135.08 MB
Purchased 0.0
Carried over 27.8259

I've watched the usage increase by about 100MB every few minutes that I checked. I can account for ~600MB of the entire usage. The usage report was 100% accurate until this morning (it showed just over 500MB used), however it shows more than a 500MB usage jump today. As always, I can supply accurate reports of the amount of cap used, as well as the time it was used. This is now the fourth time that my actual usage and reflected usage differs wildly! And no, nobody is piggybacking on my wireless network.

What gives?

iBurst's data usage calculator is too unreliable to be taked seriously.

Pathetic tbh i have called telkom already i am waiting for jannie to reply here i rly have some things to say... i was capped on the 6th... for no reason

and the ppl at iburst office is useless

especially mr Dladla if you want to know read one of the earlier posts i think on page 2 i explained everything that has happened
