USB encryption program

I am looking for a free program like usb secure to encrypt my external hard drive. The program must not have a trial and it must install on my ext hard drive so that when installed into another computer it must ask for the password.

Maybe Truecrypt will do, it think you will have to partition the external, with one small partition unencrypted on which the encryption/decryption software runs
