Wanted to connect my old Canon Pixma ink jet printer to the network
Seeing as it needs a conversion from USB to Ethernet I plugged it into my DNS 323 NAS / Print Server
All well and good -- BUT -- DNS 323 does NOT support bi-directional communication with the Pixma - which needs this feature
I see that currently print servers that support bi-directional printing are hellish expensive ( Single port / single device R600.00 - R700.00 )
Anyone know of a decent working print server that is less than the price of a new printer ?
Anyone have a good used item ?
( Yes I know I can connect the printer to a PC as a local printer and then share on the network. I would however like to make the USB printer properly network capable )
