Well just a matter of interest what amount of data do you use on your adsl or what ever, just for interest sake:

Please Include:

Line speed:
Provider:
Package:
Usage:

Thanks

@heretic when is your INTERNET finished downloading? :P

my average changes a lot depending on how I feel the month or what I need to get for others.

ranges from 150+ to 250+

which is why I am loving the Mweb 4Mb Uncapped package.

would though love to see if my line would do the full 10Mb and test my Afrihost account with it.

actually soon i think, getting pissed at rar files that does not work :/

2x10gig hd, with 1 rar file each that is corrupt, not sure what to blame pc or the usenet provider :(

yeah those are a b*tch especially when it is big files like you mention.

but then again, we are on uncapped :D

Use the par files to repair the 1 rar file?

//edit:
Line speed: just short of 9mbit but running a 4mbit uncapped account
Provider: Openweb
Package: 4mbit gold (mweb acc tho)
Usage: ranges, minimum 100gb - max 300gb, average closer to 100gb tho

have no luck with those par files also :/

hope i don't get it again really crap :P

most i got from newshost, trying to use nzbsa now.

it makes absolutely no difference where the nzb comes from if they reference the same file
the corruptions occur either because the files themselves on the newserver are corrupt or because of connection problems/download problems from your line/isp

also do u know how to use the par files? download quickpar - i have repaired many many rar files (and even generated entire missing ones) using the par files

I had the same problem with some of my HD movies, using the PAR recovery files and WinRar repair didn't help. When extracting the files and one is corrupt it will finish the extraction but then the movie will just disappear. So while the files are busy extracting just open the movie and pause it, then when its finished extracting, the movie will still be there and should still be in perfect condition. Hope that helps :D

line: 384
provider & package: no comment
usage: it varies. could be anywhere from 5 to 40GB per month. I'm lucky that a friend setup a shell and proxy for me on his company's fiber connection here in S.A, so i get by cheaply with local bandwidth.

on a side note:
quickpar is truly amazing, but it could happen that the .par files themselves are corrupt or missing; then you're pretty much screwed... but don't loose all hope just yet. first see if you can find a replacement parset. or as a last resort google for a torrent of that exact file, if you find one, appending missing data to the file you have is no problem
