Good day all.

I am encountering an issue and was wondering if someone smarter could maybe shed some light.

On my inverter in the settings menu (option 14) you can select the type of battery you are using, the options being, AGM, Flooded, Gel, Lead, Lithium ion, User.

If I choose the Lithium option the battery will charge normally when power comes on (Charge current set to 10 amps) but if I choose the user option and set the bulk charging voltage to 14.1V, floating charge to 13.4V and low DC cutoff battery voltage at 12V respectively the battery does not charge and will just draw down with each loadshedding instance. but as soon as I set it back to just the Lithium ion it will resume charging the battery.

I am not sure if there are other settings that need to be changed in conjunction with the user settings or what the issue is, but I have tried multiple times and could never get it to work. its not the end of the world as I assume the inverter is charging fine on the Lithium setting, but I would like to know why the user settings are not working and what could be causing the issue

Also, I just have the inverter with grid supply and no panels installed. and my load is between 40 watt and 200 watt and the unit is not connected to the DB but plugged into the wall and surface mounted cables to distribute power, if that information matters

This is my setup, my inverter, my battery and cables.

What i have found is some charging programs has a time on x portion of charging ie

My one inverter would only charge for if i recall correctly for 2.5hrs and then go over to float

If i however changed some settings ie make the charge rate faster to essentially be able to get the battery full in that 2.5hrs or enough at least that not much charging is needed on float to be able to get it full before the next shedding session or by upping the charge voltage the timer doesn't get activated as it only gets activated if it is on this bulk voltage for x amount of time

Or if i simulate a shedding by after 2.5hrs on the lower charge rate switch of the mains and back on a minute or two later this "timer" would reset and be able to get the battery full on the slow charge setting
