Why would a test be at 10+ seconds and your car be at 8 seconds? That's a 20% increase.

I have only found one thing in this thread that explains to me what some people find to be superior to other cars.

1. They talk about exhausts, gasflowed heads, Air filters and what not. (This doesn;t do much to the performance of you car )

2. People who drive 1920 cars try and please themselves by saying they have this and that done to their car and it will out run so and so car.

It's pretty simple for all the guys who don;t know much about cars I'll give you a little run down:

. Normal aspirated cars can never and will never be in the same performance bracket (Just forget about it)

. You can do 1000's of thousands of rands worth of work on your engine (Normal aspirated) and a guy in a 1400 Turbo will kick your ass.

. When it comes to performance of a car it boils down to 2 thing
1. Driver
2. Car

There is no way in hell a 3.0 GTV alfa would have ever out ran my Polo I owned 2.0 Polo btw

Also there is no M3 that would ever out run a 1400 Uno Turbo

Go read my other thread...at highlands on iPhone app I get 8 sec dead 0-100, now if you like me know iPhone apps...that things telemetry is out, I'd say best I can get with my exhaust and remap (read fast stuff) i'd say is 8.5 or 8.7...

Do you know how long 8's is?

In a Turbo car I can hit 1/2/3 in about 8 seconds. So if your Alfa does 0-100 in 8/9 seconds that would mean that you run a 1/4 mile in about 10 seconds right

1/4 mile is 400 meters (1 mile = 1.6 KMs)

At 100 km/h you complete 1.6 km in a minute

1.6/60 = 0.02 per meter

11.11 Seconds on 400m that is if you had a running start and ran 100km/h from start to finish you would get 11.11 seconds.

Now your exceleration from 0 - 100 takes 8/9 seconds how long do you think it would take you to complete the 1/4 mile?

I get what you saying Pitbull, but I think you should put a * t&c apply disclaimer...

Eg: a PGTi is faster than a Type R in JHB but the Type R is faster than a MK5 Gti at the coast...

There is so many factors.

DSG would be one of them. I know the Polo GTi is a Turbo, I have no idea if the Golf 5 GTi has a turbo or not. If it does, not way the S2000 will beat it coast or not. If it's a NA then the S2000 would win if the Golf doesn't have a DSG gearbox.

Golf 5 GTI is a 2L turbo - and the S2000 is quite a bit faster stock, I think the vehicle weight is roughly the same.

with some work the GTI will most likely be faster - but stock on stock, an S2000 is faster... faster than the Golf 5 R32 3.2 V6 as well (stock)...

My S2000 made just under 130kw up there

Recent dyno after a terrible dyno of 176.5kw had her up at 184kw.

This would highly depend on the driver of said car.

Driving a Turbo at it's full potential is not the same as driving a NA car. You can't compare the 2 with the same driver. It took me years to learn how to drive a Turbo to it's full potential as to where driving a NA engine is pretty simple. I'm talking about clutch release, clutch drag (To balance Turbo lag) and so forth.

If you where to put an S2000 driver like yourself against a seasoned Turbo driver there is no way the S2000 would win the Turbo stock. Unless the Turbo is as under powered as the A3 Audi.

These Turbo's of today is setup way too crap.

How about I tell you that your S2000 would never ever outrun an Uno Turbo?

These cars where built for power and speed. The Golf is built for reliability and not speed Just my 2c's
