Is it normal these days to use a pc as a home theater system? To watch tv, listen to the radio, play music, watch dvd's, etc? I currently use my pc to do all those things, I don't have a normal tv set. I am also thinking of buying a bigger 24" monitor, because I presently have a 19" one and it's small.

I also use my pc as my home theater system too. My Creative 4.1 speakers were broken and I downgraded to Creative SBS300 2.1. Not that bad.

Though after some little bit of research, I decided to buy a 42" Sinotech LCD the end of the year and get DSTV compact.
Can I connect my Sinotech LCD to these Creative SBS300 2.1 speakers?

You should be able to, check whether your tv has an audio out.
