Usinging Telkom sim on Huawei E220(Vodafone)

I’ve had my Do 3G for two months now…all this time have been using my mobile phone(n96) as a modem.
I just got a Huawei E220(Vodafone) as a promotional gift. I’ve been battling to get software to use my Telkom sim card on as the one that comes with a modem doesn’t recognize it.

Care to point me to a direction where I can use my sim on the same modem or do I have to buy a specific modem. Or maybe a software program that can work.

You could also download the standard hauweii firmware for the modem from here:
http://www.dotelkomphones.co.za/product_huawei_e220.htm

Then install that on the modem.
