I am new to the world of torrents and have kicked of a download, but believe my setup is not optimal.

Hope you guys can help.

In uTorrent i have a little warning triangle on the status bar at the bottom, the message it shows is "No incoming connections. Unless the icon turns green it could indicate a problem with you network connection"

How do i resolve this?

PS my ISP is afrihost on the 384 uncapped

They want you to set up port-forwarding. You can't really, since you need a static IP for it. So just forget about it.

Okay, so just leave it as it is? At the moment i am getting no data moving up or down, looks like my download is stuck. I thought it might be stuck because of that issue.

Hmm, i fiddled with the Bandwidth and Queing settings. I had to basically set the maximum upload rate to 10, and the max connections to 9 each. My download is still stuck, nothing being downloaded nothing being uploaded.

since when do you need a static ip to setup port forwarding?

If you enable upnp on your router then utorrent will try setup its own port forwarding automatically.

Rubbish.

How do you connect ? Through a router ? or does your PC dial up. You only need to set up port forwarding if you have a router.

Maybe there is just no seeders for the torrent that you are currently trying to download.

Tried with just a random Mp3 and status on the website indicate 363 seeders, i still am able to pull nothing.

Just checked, uPnP was always enabled on my router

the latest uTorrent client has been banned by a number of trackers. Use a different client.
