when do you schedule your downloads? when you say wifi usage, do you mean the amount of data consumed?

Sounds like you just need to limit your downloads / uploads (seeding).

I've scheduled to download between midnight and 6am. Average 6/7gb a day usage and of that uploads are about 1/2gbs. Then again, we have started Showmax as well. Could that be the culprit?

Yup, that would definitely make a difference.

your wifi is limited to the speed of your internet. normally wifi can run up to 300mbps depending on the router you have. if you have a 10mbps ADSL line, then max 10mbps would be used on the wifi with a capcity of 300mbps. This leaves 290mbps on your wifi for local network stuff. So if your wifi is slow in transferring files etc, then someone else might be heavily copying files off of or transferring files inbetween pc.
