I am using the white UTD , with the latest everything . It did work on my PC for a while . Then it stopped , I rebuild it just to try get it to work. :-(
Well you might want to try the usual stuff like setting your IP on the modems connection to 192.168.250.1 and of course make sure you aren't going through a router
Oh and dotnet 1.1 Framework.
On that point, Seburn do you know it UTtracestar, or any application for that matter, will work on dotnet 2.0 if it requires 1.1? I'm wondering becasue when I installed 2.0 it left 1.1 intact, so do you still need 1.1 to run apps like this?
not 100% certain about the Telent , but it does work on another PC. I have both .net 1.1 & 2 installed , I have tried different combination those two installed . There is no error. it there no way to put the app in to a logging more of some sort ?
Afaik all of these programs simply take the info that is given by the UTx and display them graphically.
The UTD only gives the tower load is a scale of 0-3, so im not shure if they can change it at all. If they can that would be great because the number 2 can go from pretty good to really k4k..
If it connects and there is nothing recieved then the modem is probably not sending the information. Which is disturbing. It has been reported to happen before uplugging the modem leaving for a while and plugging in again seemed to help. I can put debugging information but you will get nothing, it will say it has connected and then nothing. Unchained mentioned the problem before.
Try open a telnet session (start->run type: telnet 196.168.250.10 1234)
then type rfScan debug 2 tell me what you get?
The load figure is returned from the modem changing it would mean reprogramming the firmware on it. So it is possible but then I would need to know how to do that, and only the manufacturers should know this.
ok so tried the telnet thing , it connects but I can't do much after that , I cant actually see any text when I type any commands also not even the excape sequences works . I have to terminate telent . I will try my laptop tomorrow see what the results are . thanks for the help so far
@seburn: I've set a fixed IP (250.1) for my router's MAC. I just need to test to see if it has worked at all. You got any ideas? Telnetting directly from my PC is still not working though (perhaps I'm a few cards short of a deck, but I'd like to get this working). It's possible the router isn't allowing it out - I'll check that next time I'm on the PC.
Ok so you set the ip which is great and on ipcop this was all that was needed.
Unfortunately you seem to have the same problem as the guy who tryed it on monowall. The routing doesn't exist. You can enable port forwarding to your pc's ip on the port 1234. Then you can try create a route from the internal lan ip on the router to the internal wan ip on the router. Try not connecting to the internet and see if this works. I know the routing should by defualt go from the lan ip to the pppOE wan server ip. I do not know why ip cop simply worked and monowall did not.
Basically you need your router to act like a switch and a router at the same time so if you connect another pc to the wan port you should also be able to see it?
K, see that may be a problem. The hardware can be set to have the WAN port act as a LAN or gateway port.
Anyway, I'll give it a try as soon as I can (I'm off to LAN gaming tonight ). Will keep you posted.
[UPDATE]
This command (issued via Telnet/SSH) temporarily sets the WAN port to LAN - until next reboot. For all you DD-WRT users.
'brctl addif br0 vlan1'
Oh no wait, you are right the page seems to be down. Well then just wait for it to come back up, those are the correct addresses. Unless their is a source forge page for it I dont know if you can get it anywhere else.
I'm new on iBurst and trying to get best possible signal from my omniantenna. I did a signal test before getting iBurst and got a 100% signal. the guy doing the test used a UTC & small omni that comes with it.
I got my 8dbi omni up and only getting between 70-90%.
I think this is because the antenna is switching towers the whole time. I if this is the case I'm going to purchase directional atenna.
Thus I need to get uttracestar working to determine if this is the case.
I downloaded version the newest version form the webiste and followed the instructions from the FAQs.
When I launch the app the wizard starts and I choose USB. After that it gives a "ERR704" and then the setup is cancelled.
I tried doing this through Ethernet but also couldn't get it up. I must be missing something somewhere, cause it really cant be this difficult to work
The also tried to telnet into 192.168.250.10 1234 but it wont connect.
