hey i noticed my nokia thingie saying theres an update
i load up nsu and it only goes as far as the warning you will loose everything screen, but the update button is grey'd out ???

does anybody have the problem when its switching from gsm to 3g, the when you try to make a call it gives a "connection error" and the only way to fix is it to switch on and off??? highly annoying!!!

No problem here with switching from gsm to 3g. I like the fact that the phone doesnt have to restart when you switch from dual mode to gsm in the settings.

Has anyone else had trouble installing .sis applications with the PC suite after updating using a generic code? I can still install .sisx files, but not .sis.

Flint, I installed about 100MB worth of .sis apps after updates, with no issues. What error code do you get?

I know the local version of the Nokia N95 Firmware has been released last week.

As you know I changed my product code to EURO1, now im perfectly happy with EURO1 as a permanent change to my product code, but besides the maps for Europe being on the phone by default and not South Africa are there any other important things I need to change.

AGPS, is there a different server for different regions? What else important should I be looking at?

Also once ive changed my product code to EURO1 and lets say V13 comes out, can I change my code back to my phones original product code and update to V13 when its available for South Africa or will that cause problems if you change the product code too many times?

(I know about the memory card backups that brick the phone)

anybody have a sure answer or my original question

Changing the product code many times will not do any harm as EEProms can be written into many times. Having the wrong product code may void your warranty, thats all. You may change it back as it makes no physical difference to the phone.

Question, can the A-GPS be enabled or selected, if so where? Reason I ask is after upgrade to latest version there is still no difference in GPS lock speed IMHO

Where is Piesang when you need him? :)

A-GPS launches with Maps, it asks you aswell if it can have access for AGPS.

Ive just changed my product code back :) When V13 comes out ill use the SA product code to make sure I get all SA stuffs that MIGHT not have been included.

Is A-GPS enabled?

Go to tools, GPS Data, Options and Positioning Settings. Make sure that A-GPS is enabled.

Outdoors I get GPS lock in a few seconds most of the time. Indoors I get GPS lock as well but it takes a bit longer.

FWIW on sunday I installed PC suite that came with the N95 (on mtn) on the CD. No update thingum... :/ Updated PC suite. Had an update app. Backed up everything with the backup app. Ran the update thingum, had 10, latest 12. Click next etc etc. Wait for it to download 111MB

Had a heart attack when it was actually writing to the phone and windows came up with the usb device disconnected popup thing but it completed fine. Phone reboots, all nice and new, nothing on it etc. Restored backup, worked fine and all was good.

Then downloaded the map loader. Which downloaded .NET 3.0... That said something about the maps data on the phone being incompatible so took the plunge and clicked the button the erase it all. Then downloaded SA maps and english voice. GPS seemed to work a bit better after. Even vaguely worked indoors...

So yeah, just to say that everything worked fine, no bricks... And that you could end up making a 250MB dent in your cap.

Just checked, all enabled (Not BT).
What is Altitude calibration, should that be 0-zero?

Piesang do you use the nokia on a local net at all? I have Netgear wireless modem. All works, internet (Direct access whiteout PC) and it finds the Local net (XP) Ok, but no shares from XP on Nokia and no Nokia N95 on XP net? Thus no possibility of exploring shared folders.

I assume this should be possible but I haven't tried it yet.

Tool, Settings, General, Positioning, and then Positioning server shows supl.nokia.com

Thanks,
there was some other long server name in there. I removed it and typed in above. Will see if it is better.

Can you explain about navigation. With voice selected as "off " I cannot get it to navigate. It asks for "Purchase". All I can do is calculate route and that is useless. Unless something went wrong with the Map update after V12 upgrade.
