Was this problem only after you flashed or before aswell?

Interesting, gonna ask someone that might be experiencing similar problem, will report back if I think of anything or find out more.

Does it only crash with Media Player, or has it stopped working with other applications aswell? If you multi task lets say, Web Browser, Mxit, Images, as much else as you can, besides the music player, will it also refuse to respond?

I am going to guess your music is on the memory card, does it still freeze if you are playing something on the phone memory itself.

Trying my best to try pinpoint the location of the problem. A firmware upgrade cant damage anything, especially if the phone is booting. If it were a corruption it wouldn't work now and not then, unless its faulty ram being accessed after another application has been opened.

I plugged my N95 into my Laptop this morning, and a PC Suite message popped up to say new phone software is available. I'm currently on MTN with the firmware at 11.0.026, and the available updated version is the 12.0.013 (my Product Code - MTN N95 Plum, is 0546858).

Busy downloading now.

So no more need to hack the product code using NSS!

I'm now running the 'legal' updated phone software 12.0.013 with no fear of warrantee claims being turned down because of a hacked product code changed using NSS

Yes, but you're an MTN customer :) Those of us on Vodacom can't even get the v11 firmware through the NSU :/

I have been running V11 since I got my N95 and never had a freeze or seen it reset, now after upgrading to V12 the other night the handset was lying idle on the bed and I watched it restart itself. If that ever happend under V11 I am not sure, however it did under V12. The phone has never frozen on me though.

My N95 came with V11 (MTN), i also noticed it restarts itself every now and then.

Seems like this is the possible cause to my crackling... not sure if I want to do what they did, think it's time to take it to a VodaCare.

http://www.n95users.com/forum/its-broke/2019-earpiece-speaker-distorted-read-here-fix.html

THERE IS AN UPDATE ON THAT THREAD ON HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM IN 30 SEC'S. Read all of it again

thanx for your effort...
a had the same problem, but fixed mine on simpler way...sounds stupid, but it worked for me...a have actually put earpiece to my mouth, and tryed to suck air out...not blowing inside, but sucking it out...2 months now, and still works :) go figure.
now i have problem with loudspeakers...same method does not work, so i am thinking to take it to nokia...

does anybody have the same problem (noise) with n95s loudspeakers?

Ok, so I finally decided to take the plunge and update. I plugged in the charger and data cable, changed to EURO 1 PLUM code and ran the updater. It picked up my now non-voda phone (yay :) ) and determined that a new fw is available. ........

I'm now running the 'legal' updated phone software 12.0.013 with no fear of warrantee claims being turned down because of a hacked product code changed using NSS

Hey I did the same but I just cannot get the updater to give me the new version. Any code says
Sorry, there is no software available for your product code
What am I doing wrong.
1) Changed product code using NSS to Euro1 plum
2) Typed in code and meet with same response everytime?

Mine is the same but NO update! Dang, Why?

OK Update!
I got it to work. No NSS or product code change is required. Simply do not use updater in "PC suite" application (starting with Update avaiability for a product code) use the sepperate downloaded Nokia NSU utility from here and install the utility to use rather to update the N95 . Worked a charm.

Link http://mea.nokia.com/A4346318

Select phone, Select update via PC and use ""next"" slider to select steps to follow.

I know the local version of the Nokia N95 Firmware has been released last week.

As you know I changed my product code to EURO1, now im perfectly happy with EURO1 as a permanent change to my product code, but besides the maps for Europe being on the phone by default and not South Africa are there any other important things I need to change.

AGPS, is there a different server for different regions? What else important should I be looking at?

Also once ive changed my product code to EURO1 and lets say V13 comes out, can I change my code back to my phones original product code and update to V13 when its available for South Africa or will that cause problems if you change the product code too many times?

(I know about the memory card backups that brick the phone)

i load up nsu and it only goes as far as the warning you will loose everything screen, but the update button is grey'd out ???

does anybody have the problem when its switching from gsm to 3g, the when you try to make a call it gives a "connection error" and the only way to fix is it to switch on and off??? highly annoying!!!
