Valheim

Finally twigged why the hideous graphics look so familiar....

It features the hi-res quality of Dungeon Keeper 2.

I'm going to get Valheim a bit later for the weekend. The unusual amount of rave reviews and fandom and how fast it's climbed Steam charts has me intrigued.

I like survival games.

Currently busy with:
7 Days to Die
Stalker Anomaly Mod (Just recently started)
The Forest
StalkerZ occasionally - It's a modded server in the UK for DayZ based on Stalker universe

But with everyone raving so much about Valheim I might have to squeeze it in there somehow.

It's way better than what I expected. Just clocked in under 20 hours and was surprised to see just how deep the progression/grind actually goes. If you are into Survival/Crafting/Coop this game is at the top of most of them. I'm playing it in coop with 2 other friends and it's one of the most fun I've had since the early days of 7D2D and The Forest.

My camp is in almost exactly the same place, if we have a similar seed. You’ve done more though, I have no fence. Did manage to build the Karve though, busy working on some brass equipment. Not sure what the next progression on the bows is. I’m using a level 3 Fine Bow but I feel there must be more down this route. Main issue is the mining. Takes so damn long. Probably should invest in a cart I guess.

I don't even have a bow yet.
Been spending all my time building.

I feel the building is like Rust without the constant griefing.

The building is the only thing about Rust I actually enjoy and to have that in a Viking theme game without the worry of waking up to find everything destroyed and plundered is great.

The sailing is pretty good too. The fact that there are actual tides is mind blowing for a 1gb game.

A bow will change your existence. Hunting is far far easier so it takes less time leaving you with more time to build things. If you want to team up let me know, I’m pretty good at farming resources.

Anyone want to play a round of this online? My username on Steam is juro_el_muerto - I tried joining a South African server but they are all password locked ...

Very addictive game. Desync issues after the last patch with MP (dedicated or local) if you are not on the same network but sure they will be fix it soon. However we still playing it with the desync :p

Bugs

Had a "the ground is shaking" event while I was alone. It was 4 trolls! Killed the first two then ran around with low HP till they eventually gave up. Made a little pig pen and lured 2 boars in it. Now I got 2 adults and 4 piggies. :D

I'm enjoying this game quite a bit, just about to get out of the bronze age and defeated the 2nd boss.

The game is pretty chilled compared to others like Ark, 7d2d, Rust, Conan or Forrest but not as chilled as Astroneer, Stardew valley, Creativerse so its in a unique place.

Excited to see where it goes.
