Valheim

You folks *really* need to grab 7 Days to Die for comparison.

Valheim in current state is treble meh.
Haven't had enough game time to properly give an opinion on Valheim but having gone through the development of Satisfactory, I'm sure this will be another winner from Coffee Stain.

As for the 7 days to die. It's a fun game up until a certain point where horde night is the same and just becomes a grind fest. I usually play 7D2D for about 2 weeks, leave it for a few months and then come back to it again.

Tempted to setup an EU pvp server.. give pw out to limited people with no grouping rules and see how it goes.

Co-op is cool, but I think PVP will be cooler!

Why EU if I may ask? Unless that's your location?

I'm still waiting for a survival game that doesn't require crafting hundreds of storage containers ...

Damn, once you hit the bronze phase the amount of farming grind needed hits hard!

Think I'll take a break and redo my main base of operations with some of the new items unlocked and to correct the poor decisions I made earlier.

That's exactly what I've been doing. Will post pics once it's done.

I'm not even at copper yet; I've only recently moved into the Black Forest.

Built a hut in the forest, realized that there's a huge flat rock in front of my hut. Ended up using the stone from the rock to raise half an earthen wall around my hut. Started digging a moat next to the wall to fund the other half of the wall.

No idea if my landscape defense will be effective, but my small hut is now surrounded by a deep moat and cliffs much higher than the hut.

Another few hours gone, with no progress, but surprisingly much fun.

Oh, and building bridges over wide rivers - I really do like that the game actually requires some level of structural strength. I noticed while building the bridge that the river's level change with time. Maybe they'll sometime bring in a seasonal flood which will wipe my bridge away.

Found a weird bug/exploit if you build stairs up to the top of one of the stone pre made buildings and build on top of those.

The creatures have no idea how to handle that, they just run around in circles and don't attack. Take one step off the stairs everything attacks you and move onto the steps everything runs around in circles. Just make sure its high enough that ranged cant attack the floor.

Perfect for a portal base.

This game is phenomenal. Already 50 hours played with SO & friends. Just killed 3rd boss and going into the silver era now. Probably the most fun I have played in a long time. And for only R130 such a steal this game.

The AI does need a bit of work. I've seen one of those stone towers with existing ladders in it. The skeletons in the tower seemed to be unable to get to me to attack me when I was on the ladders, irrespective if they were lower or higher than me.
