Ok, so these are my specs, this pc is quite old, but i can't afford a brand new one, and would like to upgrade [i would think a gfx card update should be enough?]

Asus P8p67 MB
12 GB DDR3 RAM
250GB SSD
Nvidia GTX 570
EDIT: CPU - i7 3500k [IIRC]

This is the PCI slots:
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black) *1
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1
3 x PCI

I recently got into BF1, and can see the gfx card is taking strain, any suggestions on what route i can go, and perhaps only change the gfx card? perhaps add another 4GB RAM [1x slot open].

RAM is fine, storage is fine, GPU is a bit outdated and CPU is unknown. What sort of budget do you have?

Edited to include the CPU [i7 3500k IIRC]

Thats the problem, i don't know what my budget is, i want to see how much willl be the best value-for-money, and then work with that.

Pretty same specs here, only difference is 16GB ram, upgraded my HD 6950 to GTX 960 which was on special and now BF 1 runs fine, was also on limited budget as my MTB steals all my spare cash.

LOL @ machine is old.

Sure, it's an old gen CPU but it's perfectly fine still. I say upgrade the GPU and you'll be a for away!

You have a pretty decent rig.
I would upgrade the GPU (Nvidia 1060 or AMD RX480) and overclock the CPU to 4ghz+

You will need an aftermarket cooler or water cooler. Something like this.

I have a similar setup with a GTX 1070 and a 4K screen.

I think the original build was decent, i think this pc is 8 years old already.

Ok will look into this, case is big enough to fit watercooling.

Get a 1060, the rest is fine. Yes you can upgrade it but the biggest jump in performance will be from a new GFX card.

A 1060 3GB is 134% faster than your 570:

You won't get anywhere close to that performance jump upgrading mobo and cpu.

Thanks man, i'll check it out

EDIT: the 1060 looks quite good, with watercooling i'm looking at R5k? perhaps a bit more RAM?

12GB is fine unless you intend to run photoshop, bf1 and GTA 5 simultaniously.

Just a new GPU is what you need. If you wait a month or two the next 1100 sreies will be out and there should be a price drop in for a 1060. Or you can get a 1060 now price difference wont be huge (Dont get the 3GB version or you wont be able to do anything when you get a 4k screen :) )

3rd gen CPU is still fine! ram maybe 16gb? other than that i'll go 1060 for budget.

I have similar,Same motherboard,i7 3770,16gb gskill, gtx g1 1070.

I get 1080p everything maxed out ,80-110 fps ,oh and resolution scale is at 125% as well

check carbonite for a decent priced 1060 maybe?

lol? Even if it were the first gen i7 it would at most be 6 years. There is no i7-3500k, if you're on windows, open computer > hit properties top left and it will tell you what CPU you're running. You can also use CPU-Z as linked previously.

You don't need more RAM, 12GB is more than enough for anything current.

If you're playing BF1 then I'd go with an RX 480 instead of a GTX 1060:

A conservatively clocked 480(MSI Gaming X) vs one of the best 1060s(EVGA FTW) and only 1% difference in favor of the 1060(not to mention division just got DX12 patch giving the 480 a 16% advantage which will tip the scales). Since Crimson Relive also bumped up the performance in some 2015 titles it would've been cool if he did them as well.

Boys I think it's time to make the 'should've gotten a 480' meme official.

and
NVIDIA's new GeForce GTX 1060 still scores a very respectible 123FPS average at 1080p on the Medium preset, but AMD's Radeon RX 480 dominates with 143FPS average - an increase of 16%. This is at 1080p, so 143FPS average is a great result for those wanting to buy 144Hz monitors with AMD FreeSync support. But on the Ultra preset, AMD obliterates NVIDIA in DX12 with Battlefield 1 - with the Polaris-based Radeon RX 480 reaching a rather high 113FPS average, while the GTX 1060 falls down to 87FPS. The minimum FPS results are also just as important, with the GTX 1060 capable of just 63FPS, while the RX 480 maintains 82FPS. That's the DX12 magic from AMD, folks. AMD's Radeon RX 480 is 30% faster than the GTX 1060 in DX12 on Battlefield 1 at the Ultra preset in 1080p when it comes to minimum FPS, which is very important for first-person shooters (and for those with FreeSync and G-Sync displays). For the average FPS performance, AMD maintains a 29.88% increase over the GTX 1060 - showing just how strong AMD's DirectX 12 performance is in one of the best looking games ever made.

Though other games like the newest Tomb Raider the GTX 1060 runs better.

Your current card:
Maximum GPU Temperature (in C)
97 C
Maximum Graphics Card Power (W)
219 W
Minimum System Power Requirement (W)4
550 W
Supplementary Power Connectors4
Two 6-pin
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-570

So you should be able to pick either card, RX 480 PowerColor / Nitro (Comparisons), GTX 1060 Zotac / Galax (Difference is minimal between the two GTX 1060's, but I'd lean to the Zotac due to the extra years warranty). Note the RX 480 will require an 8pin, so check if one of your 6 pin is 2+4.
