VCD convert to MP3 - How, with what? & Where?

Hi

I have a VCD which I want to convert to MP3 CD

What I've got: 1) VLC Media Player 2) Real Player Converter

Tried converting VCD to MP4 using VLC player - did'nt work - don't know how

Plan is convert VCD to movie file and then use REAL PLAYER TO CONVERT IT TO MP3 - It does an excellent job.

Any advice?

You want the audio of a VCD (VIDEO CD) in MP3?

Use mEncoder. Too much to explain here but mencoder will sort this out.
Eventually once you learn how to use what is the ultimate transcoder.

mencoder is normally packaged along with the mplayer media player.

I heard that Handbrake also works.

The main file on a VCD is just a normal avi or mpeg file, so just copy that off & then extract audio from it
