The Sowetan reports on entrepreneurs who claim that PK Vending took their money and never delivered their vending machines. Read the article at :

http://www.sowetan.co.za/News/Article.aspx?id=1032799

Now here's one for you to vote on...

A. Entrepreneurs who are so easily ripped off will never make it in the business world so scams remove the weak ... Or...
B. Support should be given to protect young entrepreneurs from those that prey on the inexperienced?

What's your vote?

I feel for these people. I also played around on their site after seeing an advertisement in a entrepreneuial magazine. But the figures used in their return estimations didn't make much sense. Their machines were also over priced when compared to that of other vending machine suppliers.

I'd vote "B. Support for young entrepreneurs".

Vending Machine Scam

Yeah, got you there. Makes you also want to ask if these entrepreneur mags don't have a duty to check out the companies that advertise in their mags. Especially when advertorials tend to confer a degree of respectability on the companies. Not sure how they'd do this, but like you, many others must have been attracted by claims of big $$. Good on you for seeing the truth before investing!:)

I have been buying vending machines through PK Vending, and have never had any of these difficulties. The thing is that you can't believe everything you read in the press - these are claims, not facts. I have had fantastic return on investment, and manage to run my vending business with PK's help as a part time initiative - it's certainly paid for itself, in my experience.

Seems interesting the first post this happy oke makes is defending this pk company. Also the original poster has 2 posts and his first is running pk down.

something funny going on?

Vending machine war?

I do hear you on their prices - they're there for a reason, I found that you pay for their good service, expertise and technical support. I needed that in order to feel safe enough, as a woman, to go into using machines as a way to earn extra money. And when I needed their support, or needed a new site, they were there for me. I reckon you get what you pay for.

B - without a doubt. happy customer - you couldn't have been more obvious btw...

I'm the happy customer... I think you are right, I think it's a matter of someone out to badmouth. Such a shame really.

PK Vending used to be one of my old customers and they were a reputable company and their support people were very dedicated. The problem with vending machines is that you do need to work at it, if you expect it to fill itself and never visit the users and overcharge then you will fail. The placing of machines is important too, some sites just do better than others. The other thing that helps boost turnover is a bill validator.
Sadly though, people are getting tired of having to pay huge amounts for the crummy chocolates and half empty chip packets that are in the vending machines. Unfortunately, that is an issue between the makers of chips and chocolates and the operator. Soon you will need a bank loan to buy a lunch bar! (and a microscope to see it).

I work at a company that has a canteen that runs from 8 to 16:30 even though we have production staff running 24 hours and a lot of salary staff working into the night. What would it cost me to get one of these machines and what sort of money would I make from it?
