Very good speeds while capped

I have been capped for the last week and a half, and today i have noticed very good dlownload speeds. I am on a 3gig account, and I have downloaded 4.5 gigs this month. For some reason i am getting speeds in excess of 70kB/s. Anyone else notice this? And I am not complaining, just wanted to see if this was a single incident.
 
I'm on 384k and I've also noticed (co-incidentally following the ICASA hearings) that my usual download speed of 35KB/s has increased to 50KB/s.

* Edit * my bad - not the ADSL section! Just wanted to mention it since it also involves noticing a speed increase. :p

Do a search on this forum - users were suspended last month for d/loading in excess of their cap.

Yup, they're going to cut you off soon completely, and then label you an abuser and a cheat for bypassing their capping techniques.

hehe, ok all that good luck ended. Lasted for about an hour... and then went back to the boring old 7.5kB/s, followed by a few disconnects. But hey, it was fun while it lasted.

I doubt i will be labeled as an abuser. Only on 4.5GB at the moment, so it isnt too bad.

Haha, I have not downloaded more than 5GB in a month since launch and I am considered an abuser and once capped I cannot browse.

Most times I pay for my extra bandwidth but their abuse monitoring methods do not take that into account.

When they first launched the capping service, they cut me off for using 3.6GB.
 
I'm currently sitting on 8.04GB total... 4.56GB up, 3.49 down.

I'm also on the 3GB cap... Nobody has bugged me yet... :D

Glipsie, you mentioned something in this thread about bypassing the cap... Is this possible? :confused:
 
Not really - just using their broken system to your full potential when it's broken.

Uncapped times look like this

Hit 3GB cap..
6.4k for a while
Disconnect
Reonnect Uncapped.. 1-3hrs
Disconnect (drop line)
reconnect slow & broken (drop line)
Reconnect username is invalid
Reconnect fine 8kb till end of month for me..dam their system is broken.
 
hehe, JasonH this seems a bit similar to my situation. I didnt have the username is invalid issue, but otherwise the symptoms seem very similar. iSux, wat can i say...
