very high speed Fine

Hell_Fire - It's gonna depend on the judge to be honest - and that's really luck of the draw. There's really no excuse for doing that kinda speed unless it was a matter of life and death - ie. racing someone to the hospital with a gun shot wound or similar.

At the same time as saying that - what type of equipment were they using to record your speed? I know the guidelines in regards to prosecution of offenders via camera if I know what camera type they were using. Was it cable (that run over the road) or laser (and if so was it on a tripod or handheld) ?

it was a laser and they were parked next to the highway traping from inside the back of a venture. and i agree with u there speeding is breaking the law and there is no excuse for it.

but at night there is also no other cars on the road, well there where no other cars on the highway i was on, but now that i think about it u probably right speeding stays speeding and against the law so u probably right, 24k is still alot of money killadoob

so is 225km alot of speed

while i dont care how fast ppl drive as i dont exactly driver slowly, surely u know there are so many camera's at the moment

so while 24k is alot of money, u knew the risk before flooring it and doing 225km so 24k cant be alot of money to you

so did they put you in a cell or what ??

and JK8 don't care how much you love your lil VW's, no matter what you do to a GTi it will never catch a lambo.

I think you deserve the fine, but that's just IMO ;)
Next time, keep it nice and slow ;)
If you can't because of your car, sell it and get a beetle ;)

Will do it on my CBR 1000
and yes I will be wearing ATGATT ;)

Rather you than me. A friend of mine has the CBR 1000. He did 300 and his electronic limiter cut the engine. Felt like he was slamming the brakes at 300 because suddenly there is no power.

You have to record speed when using laser/radar/camera using a tripod on a level, stable surface (not in/on a vehicle) and you cannot use laser trapping between sunset and sunrise. Told by the Metro themselves.

I've tried to keep pace with the white GTI's. Not exactly easy. There is still no way in which a super GTI (such as the metro GTI's) can catch and then keep up with a Lambo at ie 300kph. A Golf just isn't made for that kind of sustained speed. Aerodynamics will make it harder too.

Really? This Citi Golf should give a Lambo a hiding :D

Hell_Fire, you're probably gonna get a steep fine. A friend of mine was caught doing 211km/h and was fined R10k. You drive a 350z so expect to pay about R20k

Good luck.

soon as the lambo hits 300, that golf will fall apart.. imagine it going around a corner ??? death trap.

and lets not even talk if your driving a Bugatti :)

Damn bru. Sounds like you're plastic cards are going to suffer.

Lesson learned, GTI fuel bill sponsored for next year.:D

No, you mean "as soon as the golf hits 300, that golf will fall apart.." The golf can only fall apart if it is the golf doing that speed ;)

I wouldn't like to be driving a Bugatti thank you very much. Too big an engine in my opinion. I'd rather take a GT2 (I saw a GT2 the other day take on a 1000cc bike) or something cleverly built... :)
