So destroy the only pillar of justice just to save your backside? That seems very barbaric. Zuma must just let the NPA go ahead with the prosecution and prove whether or not he is corrupt.

The NPA is full of educated people unlike our SAPS that is full of matriculants with no further edification in the law they are supposed to withhold.

When there is a power failure it is pitch dark everywhere.

As a former SADF member (Citizen Force) that did service in Vosloorus and Kathlehong,i know what 20 000 angry townshipdwellers look like...

Yes! Monopolize the masses against this fraudulent government. Tell them the truth and shut down the gravy train until actions to resolve the issue is put in place. Unfortunately the effect would also be damaging. BUT the longer it takes the more we will end up like ZIM withe a Mugabeki or even a MugaZuma in charge, for life!

I am sorry but this logic is smelly and originates from a cattle farm!;)

I am an ex-Eskom employee that saw the light (before load shedding) when the "new" management took over. Knew something about the 'old' Eskom planning etc. I have also worked on/for every power station in Eskom so I can talk from experience.

Eskom was rated as one of the best power utilities internationally in the early 90's. This was achieved during the sanction years when the economy was much worse than now and done without state money.

Eskom was an international leader in certain power generation and distribution technologies and had a small (compared to international) but very capable technology base. This was reduced to nothing by pathetic management and short term greed topped by AA. At the same time they lost the ability to implement long term strategic planning - not sure whether the capacity still exists and was ignored by management or was lost. This management structure is believed to have very strong ANC ties and apparently implemented popular policies without recognizing the technicalities of reality.

Power generation capacity have nothing to do alleviating oppression or an unequal system - to the contrary!

At the same time (late 90's) the ANC saw fit to 'upgrade the military' against a non-existing enemy to the tune of R52b and escalating. That is already a third of what Eskom is now estimating it will require over the next decade to normalize the situation. And this made no real contribution to the economy, but Eskom is refused permission to build new power stations by the ANC parliament which is a critical factor in any growing economy.

I am sorry but I fail to see any reasonable excuse for this situation and I place it firmly on the doorstep of the ANC. There are no 'valid' priorities above key strategic longterm planning for economic infrastructure. And the irony of the situation is that everybody is aware of the lack of electricity because it is immediate and directly affects the day to day activities of a household. But in the same way that the power network has been neglected, clear evidence can be found in our road and rail network - both key factors for sustaining economic development. And once the economy goes south - how are they going to keep their promises to the voters - or will it become another western conspiracy to derail the government.

I fully agree with your last perspectives.

As part of its more than R720- billion plan to increase capacity over the long term, Eskom is in talks with two international nuclear power giants to boost the generation capacity at Koeberg. It is also planning to build new nuclear power stations.

That may just be true because the way things are going now in our world I'm sure His return is imminent. It's as if the whole flippen planet has gone out of control. Wars all over the place, nature dishing up its worst, crime pushed to its most violent extremes, criminals running countries, ... you name it. Has the world ever been this crazy? I cannot but believe and hope that Jesus is coming soon. That gives me hope in these troubled times ... that at some point (hopefully soon) a line will be drawn, an end will be made to this crazy mess, the slate will be cleaned, and a new start will be on offer.

Roman wars, Greek wars, the dark ages, the world wars, worldwide diseases like the plague , the Spanish flu, Aids... need I go on?
Humanity has and always will behave like this.

I don't it when people see the end of the world around every corner.

I've merely given my take on thinngs (and stated the hope I have), you're welcome to see things anyway you like. It is your prerogative to believe whatever you want.
