Hi,

My Macbook was delivered yesterday and I am officially converted! The thing is, I need Windoze for a few things and I was looking at Virtual Box (manly 'cos it's free). Has anyone used this? Would anyone recommend this? I have read up a bit and can't really decide what is the best option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Virtual Box is awesome. I haven't used it on OSX but I have used it on Windows and Linux and can tell you, it works like a charm. Betten than VMWare in same cases even.

Again, its free, just give it a whirl :p

Oh and make sure you user at least version 3.x because they added more NIC's that it can emulate so that you have network access in your VM. The rest will sort itself out.

I like VB :D

Works better than VMWare in many cases, but VMWare is more like for professionals.

I'm using it on a mac and it works better than vmware for me.

If you want to run windows games, you'll want to use your bootcamp partition.

Virtualbox is great, it performs as well as the commercial OSX VMs but is CPU intensive compared to Parallels so if you need to run Win Apps for hours your Mac will be cooking.

Yeah Vbox is getting better, a recent Parallels updated broke 3D acceleration on my mac and now A few apps crash when I open them but there is a new update again for parallels. I thought paying for a VM would be less of a headache.
