Can anyone verify that Vista's 64-Bit Editions will run on a PC with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU?

I was under the impression that only the Itanium series are 64-bit and of course AMD's Athlons and Turions etc.

According to Wikipedia the Intel Core 2 Duo CPU is also 64-bit:

Thanx.

I'll verify this one, running Windows Vista Ultimate x64 with a Core2Duo E6550 ;)

Thanks a lot!

Have you ever compared performance differences between the two versions on that CPU?

We are running 4 Dell D630 Core 2 Duo notebooks with Vista 64-bit Business

You can expect a performance gain...but it'll be so small that it won't be noticeable without running benchmarks.

I saw a benchmark somewhere about on this. Made a pretty huge difference.
