Vista vs XP, Preference?

If Vista and XP worked perfectly, which would you choose?

Almost all of the latest games is available for Mac now, well not all of them but a good 15 or so. I was still under the impression there's no games available for Mac

They released the performance and compatability pack a few weeks ago, meant to adress that issue, try downloading it.

with vista u must have hardware that is well supported by big companies who give a crap if we use vista or not :)

i had a few issues with vista but everything now works 100% except for RS which i cannot get my router to half bridge with
 
Haven't tried Vista but I've read a lot of (bad) user experiences with Vista. Once the SP comes out and RAM prices drop, expect lots of people to move over (well, dual boot at least :)).
 
My problem with Vista is that it's a bit slower than XP at almost everything, and that there's nothing compelling one to get an upgrade.
 
When I can get my ISDN modem to work in Vista, I will switch to it
 
I had a lot of issues with Windows Vista a while back, so I've decided to stick to Windows XP until Windows Vista's SP2 or until I upgrade :D
 
Why install an OS that hogs resources and diskspace just so you HAVE to upgrade your hardware, software and keep downloading patches to make everything work?
I know the thread states IF both OS's were working, but then again - the hardware & software issues come into play.
XP SP2 runs fine without ANY updates - auto updates turned off forever. IMO (and experience) security and other updates just screw up software and in some cases hardware drivers too.
Vista has a veeeery long way to go before I will re-install it... maybe...
Think I'll stay with XP until Vista Ultimate SP3 is released. :rolleyes:
 
I've had Vista installed for about a month or so now. So far no problems, and My machine is about 3.5 years old. Theres still two things in my head saying go back to XP and stay with VISTA as everything is working now. I admit gaming is a bit slower. Will see.
 
80% of posts are vista complaints. yet vista leads with 5 votes. how the hell does that work?

Complaints are usually much louder than compliments. The guys who like Vista probaly don't want to get involved in the argument.

u remember when xp came out, same story

now think your using xp loving it thinking its not a resource hog, 98 users would disgaree

u need to move forward in life, in computers everything is getting faster and you have to upgrade or loose out on performance

so get used to vista because come jan xp is gone
 
My experience of moving to Vista had issues, but they pale in comparison to the hassles I had getting Linux working on my PC.
