Vista vs XP, Preference?

If Vista and XP worked perfectly, which would you choose?

Well it's a similar story, most people don't have problems with Ubuntu or Vista, but I always do. That's just the way life picked me.

The poll is about the preference of people if vista ran without a hitch like XP. The complaints are about vista's CURRENT condition, 2 different things, just correcting you.

Currently I'm running Bitdefender Total Security Suite 2008, My Vista only has 43 processes running, (I stopped those that is not needed by most users). Doing this with vista, which I also did with xp, improves boot times as well as performance while using it. I'm running a bandwidth monitor, antivirus and firewall, and my system is running fine.

Although vista might have problems, after putting a little effort into it, I'm able to run vista faster than any clean install. I haven't had a blue screen or fatal error or nothing. I think that a small percentage of errors are caused by users anyway :p

And those of you that complain about performance.... I ran vista in 64bit mode in January (clean install), the speed increase is amazing!
 
With enough RAM (more that 2GB) It runs quicker than windows XP (it's simply does not use more than 1GB of it.
 
I don't know maybe i have the wrong vista installed? Question.. Does vista business eats more memory compared to Home or Ultimate? I have a 6300 C2D but can't handle vista business (very slow)....

Double or Triple it.

1GB on Vista is like Running 512mb on windows XP

As I am writing this Post Vista is using 50% of my 4GB total

EDIT:

O and kill the sidebar, it's CPU intensive

Well done, hope it can do stuff like vista while only having 15 processes :P. you should try linux, I bet you can get it down to 8.

I only have 1GB of ram, and it still runs smooth, I guess it's different for everyone.
