So as you might have read one of my previous posts, I have been looking for an ISP that can give me the
full line speed at a reasonable price.

I have tested few accounts, expensive and not so expensive, both Uncapped 4096 and Uncapped 10240.

One that grabs me is, the Vitality Uncapped 4096. I have had it running all night at my full line speed which is 6Mbps.

Yes as I have been told, all IS 4Mbps accounts have been upgraded for free to 10Mbps.

But still, at R489.00 to get the benefit of what other accounts offer at up to R999.00 and more is pretty awesome.

Before I make the permanent switch, I would like to ask someone that has been using this product longer for feedback.

Could someone with more experience on this product give me some feedback?

Many Thanks & Regards

Same account just cheaper. The thing is when you use loads of data and you have a 1 star rating you will get about 100KB/s - 200KB/s during the day between 8am and 5pm. The rest of the time you should get full speed on everything including p2p and stuff. 1 thing I have noticed about IS is that they like sort of throttling which means you don't really shape different protocals. They just slow your speed.

Other uncapped providers give full speed 24/7 with shaped p2p 24/7 so you win some and loose some.

You need to figure out if a throttled connection is better than a shaped connection.

Just remember, uncapped accounts you can't test in one night. The crap hits the fan when you enter high usage brackets. ISPs don't always make it clear what these brackets are, but there are and that is the only real place where people make their judgements.

Now i don't know anything about this specific product, but if it is on the IS backbone, then beware. Sometimes they "degrade" the service more subtly, maybe more shaping here and there or dropping your speed during certain times of the day, but at some point they simply close that tap completely and that 10 MB/s type of connection you thought you were going to get is suddenly useless.

So you have to consider how much you estimate you'll use and from there ask your questions. I would almost say, if you are going to ask here about an uncapped product, you MUST follow it with "i intend to use xGB per month" . If it's 50GB, you're usually fine, if it's 100GB, you are most likely entering throttle zone...

Afrihost recently announced that you can get to 200 gig before the throttling kicks in.

I was with Vitality uncapped, But for 20% cheaper I moved to Afrihost after they said no throttling for an average of 200gb.

With regards to Vitality Uncapped, I had no problems with the service other than the lack of support. They only seemed to contactable via telephone, no replies to emails or logging support tickets online.

I am currently using it and also got a 6Mb getting my full line speed 700kB/s for direct downloads/ftp, I dont use it much during the day since I am at work but after 5 and over weekends I find it very nice. Downloaded almost 300GB already this month, would recommend it if you don't torrent much, or even if u do just get a downstorm cheapest account and u will always get full speed from their service from vitality
