The VLC Player is my player of choice.
CONS
However, I've noticed two things in the latest version that's annoying:
1) When you switch to full screen mode, the little panel with the pause/play/fforward control buttons automatically appears on the screen every 30 odd seconds. It's distracting while watching a DVD movie. In previous versions if you wanted to use the control panel, then you'd would move the mouse to the bottom of the screen to let this panel appear, which is the preferred way.
You can disable the panel altogether in Preferences, and restart the player for it to take effect, but then you have no panel at all which isn't ideal either.
2) If you have a dual screen setup and play a vid in full screen mode on screen 1, the popup control panel appears on screen 2 which is a further annoyance since you're "working" on screen 2.
PRO'S
Everything else.
I also like the fact that you can stream Youtube URLs directly to VLC player, it resizes to the original video size which makes it clearer.
