Has anyone else experienced major stuttering while playing FLAC files on VLC lately , it might be a bug in this new version - 2.1.1 RWx64, because the files play fine on MPC HC.

But its very strange that only some files stutter.

If you are streaming then it might be worth checking the buffer size (caching) settings on the new VLC installation.

Give foobar2000 a go. Purpose built for audio playback.

VLC is great for videos, but terrible for music IMO.

+1 foobar has that clean spartan elegance that most applications have lost a long time ago.

Between foobar and VLC I have yet to encounter something that doesn't work...

I think Rickster should upgrade his computer. I can play FLAC files just fine on the new VLC.
If he doesn't want to, he should play WMA. It's smaller and better than FLAC, and doesn't need a powerful pc.
