Has anyone else experienced this?

1) When I purchase a 1gig advanced package, in bundle rate = out bundle rate (38c Meg), but I get billed at R2 Meg when my package gets used up.
After 3 staff passing the buck, I finally get someone to admit there is a mistake, told it will be resolved in 24 hrs, and has to be audited. A week later, now it will take 2 weeks to resolve according to them. In the meantime I get billed at R2 Meg and pay more for a package which does not deliver anywhere close to the claimed download speeds.
2) I only receive a notification that I have only 4 Megs left, once my package is used up and my cash balance is conviently used up as well, irrespective of balance. Has happened when I have R20 balance or R250, conviently used up at R2 Meg, nice profit for Vodacom. The sms I receive is also conviently backdated. Sorry, this is a Vodacom con, and has happened to me over the last 9 months, before that, never happened.
3) Over the last 8 months, more and more I get disconnected, computer is in the same location, getting worse by the day. I do understand it is wireless, but then I should have about the same amount of dropped lines.

I expect Vodacom will have record profits again this year.

have not experienced the exact issues but find that I go through 500 megs extremely quickly on prepaid. I don't believe it bills the customer correctly.
I have firewalls and bandwidth monitoring tools and it doesn't correlate

From the sounds of things your are on pre-paid, correct? For a start what you should be doing in only buying enough airtime to purchase the bundle you want. This can be done when purchasing via internet banking (most allow you to select an amount). That way if you do go out of bundle you won't be loosing money.

The Advanced bundles: The main idea with advanced bundles was that IB = OOB the 7.2 speed really is just a bonus in the areas in which it's available. Unfortunately some people purchase advanced solely for this purpose that that's not what advanced is about.

As to why you are paying the wrong OOB rates, only VodacomData will be able to help you. He'll probably only read this in the morning and will request you send him more info in PM.

Hi

I have only noticed that I am going through a bundle more quickly on HSUPA, could be that I am just using it more.

Hi

Yes, I am on prepaid. Understand what you are saying about only buying enough. I had extra in because I thought I would be charged the in bundle rate, which I was not. Will revert back to the basic package and buy the package with only enough money. The advanced is a total waste of money. Thanks

Would still be interesting to see if VodacomData can see why you were not charged the correct OOB rates. Let's see what he has to say...

I haven't experienced the same, but there is a problem with Broadband Advanced bundles; at the start of the new month your speed profile drops from 7.2 to 3.6. See here.

I suspect these problems are related and that a Broadband Advanced bundle becomes a Broadband Standard bundle at the beginning of the new month. See here.
