Yep - especially if you consider that they can move to systematically implement the Neotel LTE network (I'd keep the brand name but do a corporate overhaul) while switching off the CDMA network. The two companies are subject to mandatory facilities leasing regardless of ownership structure but being on the same page makes a lot of things easier. We should probably be sending them a bill
DD buying WBS would be interesting although I am not sure DD will do a hell of a lot of good in reality.
I think Neotel would have been a better buy for DD, but giving them the ability to implement LTE and fixed wireless directly in to their network in major urban areas definitely allows them to offer more to their corporate customers, especially now that Telkom has mobile convergence. Just think of them being able to manage SIP based solutions without having to go over other operator networks.
Then again the financial rewards might not be there although it would be pretty cool from a technical standpoint.
Cell C is probably just too expensive for DD, so that is not an option.
