Arnt Neotel, MTN and Vodacom working together to install a new cable infrastructure?

Vodacom ADSL in the pipeline
Vodacom is set to launch a consumer ADSL service, complementing its current wireless broadband offerings
Vodacom would not be stupid enough to price itself out of the market, but then again, how do you justify selling bandwidth at one price for ADSL, and then on another price for mobile internet. Maybe they are planning a revolution in mobile internet pricing - then again maybe I'll see a unicorn on the train tonight.
As per usual, spot on.
TW's idea of using the towers as central locations for DSLAM's is innovative, but getting ROW to trench for copper (or fiber) is going to be difficult, time consuming and expensive. Much better to unbundle the LL already in place. Makes more sense for fiber though.
How about Tripple play?
Telephone, Internet, DSTV all in one packages?
um, did you read the whole thread? Vodacom would simply be piggy backing off Telkom's network in much the same way that Internet Solutions and Mweb are currently doing.
Don't get your celebration gear on yet.
Yes, but customers would be signing up with Vodacom, not Telkom. That is what matters.
And the one is better than the other?????
Let me ask you this question.....have you heard anything about Telkom testing a 100Mbps ADSL network? Me neither.
Vodacom will not make their own residential fixed line services.
Sadly they probably won`t, but heck own can dream, although thats all we mostly do![]()
