Vodacom and MTN explain why they cannot offer affordable uncapped mobile data plans

South Africa's two biggest mobile networks prefer to offer full-speed capped products over throttled uncapped mobile data plans due to local user preferences and potential capacity overloads.

In developed markets like Europe, the UK, and the US, cellular networks often sell uncapped mobile data plans at reasonable prices for the average consumer.

Yet these fixed mobile deals often come with the same speed limitations that get throttled further after a certain usage. MTN's has even more restrictions to the modems you can use.

Dumb takes. But what can you expect from the South African Idiocracy.

Its because they want more money. There is absolutely no technical reason, they could backhaul their towers at 100ge if they wanted these days the port price is negligible. Loads of countries with far more dense cities have unlimited plans which most people prefer because they dont have to worry or think about asinine limits.

Why is MyBB so lazy that they just regurgitate what companies tell
them without doing any research?

Layman's: "Our out-of-bundle revenue is very high. It is in our best interest that customers rapidly deplete their small bundles."

TLDR; They do not need to, who else are you going to use?
