Vodacom and RICA FAIL!

Well I ported my number to vodacom prepaid from CellC to benifit for HSDPA and 3G. The port went smooth but the after I registered for RICA which I had to do before I can activate my number by dialing 100 the simcard is no longer activatable. It says "Sorry, Your recharge service has been suspended"

After about 30 calls to 111 and port support on 0822415000 and visiting the Vodashop 3 times they told me that there are thousands of numbers with exactly the same problem. Their technitians is working on the problem and no ETA is available. The vodashop send a query to highest support but told me it might take a while since so many users are affected!

NICE VODACOM! You Epic fail and screwed me. Now I'm stuck with my primary number that I used completely useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking of taking vodacom to small clains court! :mad:

Unfortunately I believe small claims court are only for "natural persons" and not companies. A pity.

Well I don't think I will really go that far. Well it depends since my number is now still offline since RICA was launched. So its more than a week now and you guys can imagine the frustration! All you get is you'll have to wait. Its kinda unacceptable!

Nope - not true at all.

Only a 'natural person' can initiate an action in the small claims court.

So.

you can take vodaskum to court in the small claims court, but they cant take you to court in the small claims court.
 
And what exactly will you take them to small claims court for?

What monetary value, and what is that value based on?
 
Why would anyone want to go through the RICA cr@p now? Like everything in this country, wait a year until all the issues are sorted out, wait for the extension of time then go an register

True and nicely put :D Biggest misconception about Small Claims Court that companies cannot be taken to SC Court.

Well this will have never been a problem if they didn't set a deadline for the operators to comply. Only now bugs are discovered and the consumers are effected not the operator!

Ohh and my simcard is still offline. Since 2 August 2009 my number I had for years is not working. So yes I have a right to be angry and so will any one I suppose.
 
So you saying this would all be fine and dandy if they didn't set a deadline?.. why implement RICA then if I may ask, if nobody has a deadline to meet?

No one is denying that you have a right to be angry, but be constructive about the anger, and direct it in the right place.

Taking VC to small claims court won't work since you will have to prove how you come to a monetary figure, which of course they will blow out of the water due to a clause in the contract somewhere.

RICA was not implemented by Vodacom. Shouldn't you rather be angry at the Government? Vodacom was just complying to this new Law.

Ohh my ***

2 weeks when will I get my number back that vodacom kinda stole. I have the simcard but its completely useless!
