Vodacom content services (Wasp)

I have been a Vodacom customer for over 20 years. Vodacom Live (WASP) services are been deducted from my account. I do not play games, I do not subscribe. I have called multiple times, have escalated to a supervisor, have called head office retentions, have called WASPA direct and have even logged onto the Vodacom APP and web portal to cancel these services. I have checked my phone for malware, virus, spyware. I have updated the system OS on my phone. These services are been added at all time of the day and night, for example, 4am. Vodacom promise to resolve, they will call back, they will request a credit. I have just received another bill for over R 1000 with R450+ charges for Vodacom live. I did not give Vodacom permission to allow a third party to debit my account. I have asked them to block these services. I have explicitly told them that I don’t give permission. What else can I do?
 
Sorry to hear of your problem which is a common one. The following advice might have a reasonable chance of resolving this type of problem reoccurring.
1) Get a Service Reference number by sending a email to [email protected] explaining your problem. Calling is a useless black hole.
2) Allow for 7 working days to be resolved, if not resolved compile a properly constructed email to [email protected] wherein the subject states your Service Reference as the first word to your subject.
3) Allow office of the Ceo to resolve within 7 Days.
4) If this matter or your bill cannot be resolved, prepare a letter of demand as required for the Small Claims Court. Have the Sheriff serve the letter of demand to the office the Ceo.

We are reasonably sure that your problem would have been resolved by the Ceo before getting to the Small Court process.

I got caught with this stupid vodacom vlive R6 a day sub.

sending the sms to stop doesnt work..

go to site: live.vodacom.co.za

login and go to my account. Under my account, select my subscriptions and cancel all subs from there.. luckily i figured this out on day 1 else with have ended up with a huge bill

My sister was caught like this now also. R400.00 billed to her in Feb. I personally think we need a option on the Vodacom App where we can turn WASP blocking on/off as we see fit. No content should be billed to my account without my express consent.
 
I am pretty sure vodacom gets a cut from these people. thats why they won't/"can't" inform you that you are subscribed to these scam artists.
 
So after 20 years of having the same number, I now saw I was subscribed to 'content services'.

Sent a STOP ALL to 30150

Received notifications that I've been unsubscribed from GLAM PORN, and Funny Animals.

Sent STOP ALL again yesterday morning (1 day later), and was unsubscribed from Dragon Gaming.

Bloody hell. How?

So I went to Vodacom, and the dude in the shop phoned technical support or head office or whatever, and content services on my account is now blocked. Let's see. I'm keeping the SMS as proof.

Does not work for Vodacom Live.

Having personally been in the WASP industry for a disgraceful seven years of my life, I was rather pissed when vlive billed me as there was no way to block it, identify the subs or opt out through normal channels.

Only the call center was able to block vlive. They did refund me when I requested the double opt in logs.
