Vodacom Data SMS's getting irritating, REALLY irritating

Firstly i keep getting this sms that 4000kb are left on my bundle even though there is a little bit less and then keep getting this sms till i close my session.

And then to top it all it keeps telling me that costs are being deducted from your account when i KNOW i still have bundle remaining.

What ever happened to the nice thing of at 50% bundle you get an sms then again at 80%?

I have asked this before but please i would like to set times for you guys to be allowed to sms me! especially at 1 in the morning(when i am fast asleep!).
 
I've been getting them as well. Blerry nuisance!

If they aren't going to fix it, call customer services and opt out of receiving reminders.
 
Same here, i keep getting the less than 4000kb left on my account...even though i last connected with that sim over a week ago. It just seems to randomly come in, roughly four or five a day even though that sim has not been used to connect to the net.

Not really the solution is it? From what I am reading there is an issue with the notifications, unless what the user is reporting is by design?

Its by design , if you attempt to create a connection with 0 bal and 4000kbs you will receive notification.

VD, you're not getting it.

We're getting these notifications EVEN WHEN THE BUNDLE IS VALID.

Here's the timeline:

21/11: sms saying only 4Kb left
25/11: sms saying deducted from airtime
25/11: sms's saying only 4kb left (10 times!)
26/11: got message on browsing saying that I don't have enough money left to browse even though I had R8 airtime left
26/11: recharged, bought new 20Mb bundle
27/11: sms saying only 4kb left
27/11: sms saying deducted from airtime
28/11: sms saying only 4kb left
28/11: sms saying deducted from airtime
28/11: sms saying only 4kb left
28/11: sms saying deducted from airtime
29/11: sms saying only 4kb left
29/11: sms saying deducted from airtime
29/11: sms saying only 4kb left
29/11: sms saying deducted from airtime
30/11: sms saying deducted from airtime (but note that even at this point, I've only used 4Mb or so of my bundle)

This clearly is not by design, it's totally incorrect. (and BTW, it sends the deducted from airtime when I start a session, and the 4kb left when it disconnects - often at 1:30-ish in the morning!)

Instead of asking for phone numbers to disable notifications for individual forumites, don't you think you should ask your tech guys what's going on? I want proper notifications, not a choice between this rubbish or nothing!

I assume you're referring to me... I'll PM you my number, but please remember that it's not just me, so don't go disabling my notifications or anything. I'm just sending you the number so you can hopefully track down the problem then solve it for everyone.

i received notifications EXACTLY like CathJ.

Even though i KNOW that i have bundle left over!

And why has this whole bundle finished sms's changed? it used to work perfectly! but now it is in a total mess.

I will pm you my number but please set it right and not just disable the notifications, (i can not for the life of me understand how it happens that we get soo many sms's but yet there is a problem on your system)

are the sims in a modem or cellphone ?

The sms`s are only suppose to come through once the device has initiated or attempting an internet connection.

Cellphone. As I say, the "only 4kb left" comes through after the connection has disconnected, and the "deducted from airtime" comes through just after the connection is made.
 
Sunday Morning....

I got the sms notification,Sunday morning ....you have no more data left,blah,blah....cost being deducted from your airtime,blah blah......- checked my data balance and had like 70megs left....- premature notification,...highly sensitive....anything can trigger an eruption???....LOL....I mean notification.

Mine is in a cellphone and also is disconnected.

but still why do we get sms's to tell us that costs are being deducted when in fact they are NOT!
