Hi all,

(Vodacom Fibre is the only option in our estate)

I need to some from existing Vodacom Fibre customers, which option is the better one to go for?
Does Vodacom shape their uncapped service and/or capped service? Or are both of them unshaped?

The 2 options I am considering are:
40/20 Mbps (800 GB) - R 1199 (month-to-month)
40/20 Mbps (FUP 1500 GB) - R 1299 (month-to-month)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I suspect Vodacom do shape

I recently had to move to Vodacom fibre from ADSL, because helkom said they won't replace the stolen copper. Vodacom has not yet opened up their infrastructure to other ISPs, and probably won't based on comments from other long-time vodacom fibre users' comments in my other post. I selected capped fibre at 10x the speed I had before, previously had capped adsl

Anyway, even though the speed test shows a much lower latency locally than ADSL did, my general experience has definitely declined. Using the Steam client is much more sluggish than with ADSL(Afrihost). The network-related response on steam games is more sluggish, GeForce Experience client more sluggish. Some games played directly via UPlay more sluggish, Blizzard Client takes longer to realize there are downloads available after opening it. Other protocols also show slower speed/response

When I say sluggish, there is a noticeable delay to get to certain points in the games, or menus&screens in the applications.

I'm keen to hear about other Vodacom Fibre users' experience and comparison.
