Well 2.5TB isnt bad considering I just signed for a 100mbps. I'm quite happy then. Installing on the 1st of August for me

If you know they have already trenched in your area phone CI or ask on their thread to check. Mine was installed long before the coverage map showed coverage. What is the FUP like?
According to CI there's no fibre available in my area yet, so I assume VC had not opened access yet

With vodacom as an isp I got my full speed all of the time and my internet was very stable, only had 1 weekend of downtime with them. I moved from vodacom as an isp because vodacom the fno became open access and I wanted to not have to keep monitoring my internet usage to ensure I stay within their fup limits. Just the other day I put a 100GB steam game to download without worrying about finishing my data.Thank you for this valuable piece of info.
So I should maybe consider taking out a 12 month contract instead.
May I ask why did you decide to cancel after 11 months?
How was your experience with VC as an ISP?

Rather go with a ISP that doesn't have a FUP. Vodacom throttles you to 2Mbps when you reach your limit. Other ISP's like Afrihost and Cool Ideas don't have that 2000's relic in their contracts. So I just spoke to CI and they confirmed that they can provide their service despite their website saying fibre is not available in my area.

Did I mention that vodacom will supply you with a Nokia router with a built in ont that you won't have access to. Whilst with any other isp, vodacom supplies a seperate ont and you can use the isps router or your own.The FUP shouldn't be an issue for me as I am not a gamer (just don't have the time).
It's basically for streaming movies/series every night.
During the day it's the wife and two small kids (under 10) watching YT and using social media.
I see VOX is offering free install but if you cancel within 12 months you are liable for the fee - I need to find out from them how much is the fee (although from past experience I don't see myself cancelling with them before 12 months).
But I will do research on Vox fibre and then make a decision.
If Vox is not an option then I think I shall go with VC as their install fee is R910 and if you cancel within 12 months a further R600 - which is equal to the install fee from CI.
And also as mentioned by deonmoodley he had no speed issues or downtime with VC.

Oh damn. Thanks for mentioning it.
So I guess it's between Vox and CI
Interesting they told me the opposite. Said until it shows on the live map they can't help me.So I just spoke to CI and they confirmed that they can provide their service despite their website saying fibre is not available in my area.
Vox don't show Vodacom as a network partner on their website, do you have multiple FNO's installing in your area?

Vox also offers a 200/100 connection on vodacom if that sort of thing floats your boat![]()
