I hope they realise the voicemail problem, otherwise i feel sorry for the poor call centre. The Jasjam firmware runs slightly faster and the skin is blue instead of the HTC Green which does get a bit eyesore after a few minutes

Any idea where in the process the HTC TyTn is in terms of getting approved? Has it been received for testing yet? I know there is a thread somewhere that keeps track of the phones but I cannot locate it at present.
Thanks
Vodacom3g - any update on the HTC TyTn? MTN reckon they have voice quality issues now with the phone. Any ETA for Vodacom yet?

I have the TyTn that I imported and use on VodaCom. The only problem I have is that voicemail notification smses aren't sent through. Apparently this is also a problem on the Vodafone networks with the 121 voicemail service and the TyTn users are hoping that a firmware upgrade will solve this problem. Otherwise I don't see why VodaCom wouldn't approve the phone. Oh i'm also running the JasJam firmware on my TyTn as it's faster and mroe reliable.
Well I must tell how frustrating it is trying to get any info out of Vodacom on the TyTN. My upgrade on my talk 500 is due and I've called the 111 number about three time in the past two days only to hold for about 20 minutes at a time and not get called back when I use the call-back feature![]()
I've called a Vodashop, the Vodaworld Vodashop and Smartcom and nobody has any idea what I'm on about![]()
Does anybody have any more up-to-date info?
Thanks.
It looks like nobody knows when it is due to hit the contract scene ... For now it looks like hard cash will get you one ... Let me know if you keen ..i can get you going
Thanks, but I'm not willing to fork out R8k on an unsubsidised phone![]()
Hey Everyone, below is an email from Leaf concerning the email notification problem on the HTC TyTn when used on the VodaCom network. I hope VodaCom sort this out.

Dear Customer,
This is a common problem with Vodacom. There are two types of notification for your voice mail messages. The phones only support the new version; and Vodacom only uses the older version. As soon as Vodacom upgrades to the new notification type they will come through to the phone; but until then there isn’t much of a solution.
Sorry for the inconvenience; however this is not a permanent problem.

Don't know if this is the right thread but I got hold of a chap at Voda upgrade dept. yesterday who actually knew what the TyTN was. I will have to pay in R3489 on my Talk 500!
I think I may just go with a SE P990i.
