More like how to make people productive. With reduced rate of incoming calls today i've actually managed to code more today than the last 3 days

Well.....not so cool....imagine you were stranded on the highway with your car now. You can't phone anyone and it's a dangerous area.....

Person wants to phone the police....fire brigade....hospital.....

Im sure you meant this comment as a joke, but it actually has very serious implications.

How about your house being robbed but the alarm company unable to contact you

Just shows you how easy it is to bring South Africa to its knees.

Something wrong at Telkom and the whole country goes tits-up.

I would NOT be surprised... Or, worse, they scheduled a job to do it, and scheduled it for 12pm instead of 12am as well as cutting the wrong peeps...

Not to mention all the house that will get broken into and no alert going out, as a lot of the alarms these days are GSM based...

What we call Machine to Machine (M2M), which shall, in the not too distant future, overtake the subscriber base at the CSPs.

Vodacom sucks today! Our business has almost 200 tech's countrywide and we rely heavily on Vodacom for communication!! Our cell routers are down, we can't use our cellphones either to call our tech's and our customers don't care! Ridiculous! SLA's out the window!!

For such a wide spread outage and one that lasts many hours something must be seriously wrong, no signal here in Durban, hope they sort it out soon.

Red is faster....:p

Cell C holding up so far... better send my SMSs before it comes to a halt too.
