Vodacom Problems: Slow Throughput, trying to Connect, DNS, High Latency

Brixton, Johannesburg ... also extremely slow since lunchtime!! :(

Maybe I jinxed myself with my earlier post stating that I have had incredibly good speeds with my U700 over the past 5 weeks? :confused:

Download Speed: 62 kbps (7.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 110 kbps (13.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

And this is connected at HSDPA?

Very slow speeds in Bloemfontein (Heuwelsig/Woodland Hills) since last night. Any problems you know of V3G?

Just did a speed test, and this is what I found! Eish

Download Speed: 52 kbps
Upload Speed: 54kbps

I use a USB E220 modem and have full HSDPA signal.

*sigh* why does it always have to break? MTN is faster and pings are better, why must I keep up with the donkey poo?

anyway, my HSDPA connection in Cape Town - Brackenfell is dying:

Download Speed: 464 kbps (58 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 283 kbps (35.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

Pings to the UK = 500 - 600ms where its usually 280 (my friend with MTN in same room usually at about 240 :( )

On the bright side, I will not need to take a bolt on this month ..... will the poo poo ever end?

Download Speed: 1775 kbps (221.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 313 kbps (39.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Hope it's not just a flash in the pan?:rolleyes:

What program are you using to get these results?

You know nothing works in PE before 10AM (I know, I grew up there! ;))

PM me your whole pedigree, contact numbers, location, etc. and I'll ask the local guys o check out what's (not) up.

We've got one PE, one Magaliesburg and one Cape Town right now, so it might be local rather. If it was a common problem, this widespread, the forum would have lit up like a Xmas tree.

Hi V3G

Very slow today (9 Oct) as well. I contacted technicians for Magalies they say all appears Ok which is why I thought maybe it was at Proes Str. It's weird, some things are a reasonable speed like this site, some things are slow as ever. Also seem to be getting timeouts and as I said earlier this all started early Sunday evening.

It's not unusable but it's at least down to 20-25% of normal speed. Same location, external antenna, full strength signal, no changes on PC.

all so true but if you look on the number i gave you ,you will have all the details on your system.
it looks like all is back to normal in pe. no problems now.

Only GPRS in Langebaan

For the whole of this afternoon we only have GPRS in Langebaan. For how long will this still be the case?
 
Langebaan

It is now 23h25 on 9 Oct 2007 and we still only run on GPRS in Langebaan. I normally have a 4 or 5 bar 3G signal but today it is only GPRS. My Modem is currently set on 3G preferred, if I select 3G only I have no connection.

We had a power failure in Langebaan this afternoon, might this be the cause of the problem?

Is somebody looking into it?:mad::mad:
