Still very bad today. Does no one know why this is going on? Its really irritating![]()
Looking back now.....I had SO much problems with my E172 modem (mostly DNS not resolving), but never had one problem with my B970 router. Just a better product?
Won't you update your location field?
We've got about a million active broadband users, spread over around 3000 towers all over the country.
These are interconnected with thousands of Telkom links and break out into the internet at 9 different points.
Thus a 'network bad' post will not help at all to try and get any kind of resolution.
Or maybe the same period as us getting rid of the Slovenian DNS servers?
To the one from a few months ago, here, you can now see the name of the DNS server, instead of 'UnKnown'.>nslookup www.playboy.com

dude, if you read a couple of posts up i said i am in northcliff, joburg, you even responded to it.![]()
you think i dont know how many people in different locations use this? thats why i included that, thus your "you are insignificant" post will not help at all to try and get any kind of resolution.

I haven't been getting any DNS errors since my last post, nearly two weeks ago.
I've noticed recently that the Vodacom's DNS servers now have reverse DNS entries, compare the result from today:

Someone should do a PhD on why IT systems break all be themselves. I suspect it's the missing component of the Grand Unification Theory.![]()
Like everything in life, it also needs love and attention.![]()

So you (and me and every other member) represent 0.0014% of the population of this community.
You'll appreciate that while you only have to worry (and remember) about your posts, I need to remember about every one of the ones related to Vodacom. And for someone with no short-term memory at all, it's a bit of a challenge.
Why not fill in your location field and then you don't have to post it every time?
Actually, I did post a solution to your problem before. Have a read through my 11500 posts above.![]()
Fair enough, point taken. I will update my profile.
But i just feel you could've pointed this out to me by simply asking me to by saying "please update your profile" rather than accompanying it with a whole essay about how many millions of users there are etc etc. If i'm going to be told how insignificant i am on my first query its not very nice, if you see my point.I don't believe i was rude either. And no i haven't found a solution in any of your posts. The connection is good one day bad the next.
Anyway, do you know if there are any problems on my side? (Northcliff, Joburg)
