Since this morning my broadband connection refused to connect. Problem? My sim is not activated! Huh! been using it for two years!!!! So I phone Vodacom helpdesk. The guy tells me that my simcard might be damaged. To test it he says: "take it out the modem insert it into your phone and see if you get the same error message." I did exactly that and went online - 3G working!
Nope the simcard is not damaged.
Back to the laptop and modem ..
All of a sudden 3G and the simcard working!
Wonder why that is ... ?
Why contract customers dont get a manual is beyond me...
Hi there,
I've got an E272 and I'm in Northcliff, Johannesburg.
For the past 3 days the connectivity has been terrible, very low speeds, extremely high latency and frequent disconnects. This is the first time i have had such problems and it just seems to be getting worse.
Please could someone advise what the problem is
Thanks

There is a problem with E272 modems that need the latest firmware to fix an intermittent problem that affects upload speeds, no idea about the MC950D.
The problem is with specific UPA chipsets, so it might well be.
Yup, been trying to upgrade my BB for a few days using Win-7 and eventually tried it on XP. Went through first time. That's fairly risky using an OS that isn't even out of beta to flash the firmware, rather use heXPee or Vista to update the firmware.

Thing with Win-7, it's so stable you forget it's a beta.
