This simply to note that the choking seems over (last 3 or 4 days have been good). Thanks for the fix, which we assume got rolled out after JHB approved of it....

:D Definitely better in KZN on the South Coast!!!

Downloads in excess of 1.3 mb & uploads at 342kbps.

Something worked.....:D :D

3G throughput was fine last night but when I lost that signal and had to go on to GPRS it was almost unusable, much worse than normal.

Irritating disconnects in Centurion

I have had disconnects at both Wierda Park en Lyttelton in Centurion. Seems like I only get a few minutes max per connection and then the blue LED starts to flash. Attempting to reconnect usually fails the first few times, but if I retry after a few minutes I get reconnected (but only for a random time).

Is the system overloaded, i.e. too many people per tower? The bandwidth and signal strength seem to be just fine.

VMS

same here for almost a week now

Had the same for the past week or so...one moment I have 3-4 bars HSDPA signal, the next moment there is nothing and I have to connect on a GPRS only profile...which only disconnects within a few minutes anyway.

Whats up in Centurion?

Losing 3G Signal

Noticed the last couple of days I seem to lose 3G connectivity for a minute or 2, the connection itself isn't actually dropped I just lose all reception. After a couple of minutes it then magically reappears so I doubt its cell breathing, anyone else having this problem?

same here.. wich area u at?? Mine runs fine for a minute or so. then suddently drops for a minute or two.

Grahamstown at the moment you? Mine doesn't drop that often, maybe every 30 mins or so, seems totally random.

Slow speeds

Hey just wanted to check if anyone else is noticing slow speeds on 3G, normally get very good speeds and tonight running at a max of 14KB/s (usually get 35-40KB/s)

I am in Benoni (and yes i have heard all the Benoni jokes :D ).

Anyone else?

Seems like the speed has also gone down with the recent tariff decrease, as I have been experiencing much slower speeds in Durbanville area for a couple of days mow!?

Can confirm. Also getting only 15Kb/s since last week when i used to get anything between 34 - 42Kb/s. This is in Oude Westhof, Durbanville.

Jip, same thing happening here. And my speed has dropped to 15Kb/s

Same here in Centurion. 3G/HSDPA almost non existing and disconnecting all the time. Reconnecting reveals the good old 619 error and after several attempts connection is established again, only to loose connection again. Connecting with a GPRS only profile does not solve the problem either - connection just fails randomly. VC, what is going on now?

I assumed it was a local tower problem but it seems to be all over. Any idea what's going on V3G?

Also get the occasional 619 error.

I don't get disconnected when online - only hassle is the 619 error when I try to connect.

I lose 3G quite often in Table View area which really does get quite frustrating when I have to do weekend testing from home. Drops away every few minutes for about half a minute and then comes back full.
