I keep getting daily MMS spam from Vodacom with "FreeNews4U". I assume its Vodacom because it has extensive Vodacom and vlive branding. There's no option to unsubscribe though so how do I? I never signed up.

my gf had the same problem she emailed them and they took her off.

oh she also threatened (sp) to put a stop order on her account

I started receiving the same MMS a few times per day without ever explicitly asking to receive it. Very annoying!

There is an opt-out link at http://www.vcnews4u.mobi/HTMLSite/Home.asp which takes you to http://www.vcnews4u.mobi/HTMLSite/OptOut.asp where you're told: "To opt out of News4U, SMS 'STOP' to 30699 absolutely free."

While this probably just confirmed to them that my number does exist I've decided to go ahead. That was a few days ago and so far I haven't received any more.

Hi,

I also get these, as well as ones from Vodacom23 and one recent one about "Express Yourself SVS".

What irks us is that the opt out is different each time. I presume you don't intend to upset your customers.

Why on earth should I be kept occupied opting out to 30699. 30600 or whatever number your company decides to use in the future?

Please assist in explaining the procedure of these opt outs e.t.c

Thanks VD, I sent a stop sms, didn't get any sort of reply or confirmation but if they keep coming through I'll pm you.

I started receiving these mms's recently too. Kinda irritating. But now that i know i can get off this list. I'M happy. /sms's to opt out.

Yeah, I keep getting these "get free airtime when you recharge" smses. Don't seem to be able to stop them :(

I know the procedure. I just don't want to keep doing it every time Vodacom sends me spam. Why won't you reply?

I avoid threads where I see your presence - rather spend quality time with other forum-nites who appreciate help and don't rant 'n rave across 200 posts

There is clearly mass customer dissatisfaction with the attitude of this company re. SPAM. If you can't see it or do anything about it then say so.

Dealing with this type of thing is not for everyone. I don't know where you fit into the scheme of things, but your attitude is definitely familiar.
